I'm 5'3 and losing weight on 1500 a day + exercise calories. It can be done!

Fitnessblender on YouTube is great

I did when I had more to lose and my deficit was quite big. I used to not log on days I knew I would go way over. Now I have less to lose and a smaller deficit, I log everything. It really depends on how big your deficit is, how well you do during the week, how much you can eat and drink on that Saturday (you could wipe…

It's never happened to me but I think I'd find it quite awkward. And I get what you mean about it being intimidating going out with a total stranger. Also, This I totally don't agree with.

Same. And I hate coming across mfp entries in cups too. Im British, so I have very little idea what size a "cup" is anyway.

115 is pretty small (although you don't say your height). Why not try and focus on body recomposition - lifting some weights etc? This might give you the body you want without actually losing any more weight.

Perhaps this is too low, I'm 5'3 and eat around 1,500 and usually lose about 1lb a week, sometimes a little less. Try and eat filling foods. Try and eat foods high in protein and fat that will keep you fuller for longer. Put as many vegetables into a dish as you can. I like to do this to make my plate look full without…

This might not be the advice you want but I sometimes get the same and I just try and ignore it. I tell myself "you've just eaten and you'll get to eat again in another couple of hours" and distract myself and usually the hunger goes away. You might also be feeling hungry if you're calorie deficit is too strict. How tall…

Also, don't do this. Imagine how you'll feel in a year if you gave up now. Even if you stayed at losing 3 pounds every 2 months (which I don't think you will, I suspect you're eating more than you think and it will speed up once you tighten your logging), in one year you'd have lost 18 pounds. Weight loss can be slow and…

Try opening up your diary to public so we can see where you might be going wrong. Also, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but 1,200 calories is already the lowest minimum you should be netting, MFP was designed to eat back your exercise calories, or at least some of them. Netting less than 1,200 is not healthy.

I usually just take a shower and dry my hair with a hairdryer at the gym... Most of the time I do yoga or resistance training though, I only get really sweaty once or twice a week. If I'm exercising at home, I wash it if I needed to wash it that day anyway, otherwise I just do the same.... Is that really gross? Haha.

Eat lots of vegetables. Then you'll have the same amount of food on your plate, which helps mentally, but the food will be made up of more nutritious less calorie-dense foods If you regularly eat something like cereal, cheese etc, weigh it out once or twice so you get visual of what 1 portion looks like, then try to…

Thanks, I will check that out

I think I'm going to start it tomorrow! How are you getting on?
-
I don't know why it's come up as 1,200 for 0.5lb though. I would eat more than that if I were you, and eat back some of your exercise calories. I sometimes eat a few of them, sometimes I eat back all of them.

I'm 5'2 and 142lbs and am losing about a pound a week eating 1,450-1,500, so you probably don't need to go down to 1,200. It's a hard diet to stick to. I think it comes up with the same for 2lbs and 1lb because what you would need to consume to lose 2 pounds a week goes below 1,200, MFP's minimum threshold.

Thanks! :)

Slightly off-topic but can someone tell me what creamer is? We don't have it in the uk (that I know of) but I see it mentioned all the time on here. Is it cream? Is it milk?
-
Manchester too :)

If you're from the UK, I would recommend trying out myprotein.com. I use this one in Vanilla: http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/impact-whey-protein/10530943.html. They have a wide range though.

I meant I found eating at 1200 calories boring so I moved up to 1480. I just meant that I felt restricted.
-
Thanks for your advice.
-
Ok, thanks everyone :)

Because it works.

Just made these, they were really yummy. Quite airy and fluffy, but then I'm used to thin crepe-style pancakes, being in the uk. I substituted most of the flour for ground up oats, just thought it'd be a little healthier.

I was just thinking the same. Anyway, I'm going to make these for breakfast tomorrow :) they look delicious

Wow it's so nice to actually read a thread in these forums where OP gets told what they're doing wrong and doesn't go super defensive and pissed off! There is some good advice here; don't get disheartened by the occasional over-indulgence :)
