  • Mine doesn't, mine is pretty much spot on. It's not an HR one.
  • OP, it can be difficult to be assertive with doctors and even receptionists. I've been there, and it's scary! But you just need to explain to them that you are genuinely worried and have lost a lot of weight without changing your diet. I am sure they will try and fit you in if you tell them that.
  • OP, my boyfriend's practice is like yours (only do appointments on the day). You need to get on the phone as soon as they open (if I were you, I'd even start calling before 8.30 and hang up and call again if the message says not open yet.) And if they tell you they're full, tell them you've spent several days trying to get…
  • This sounds destined for failure. You don't need herbalife and smoothies. Don't go in with that "all or nothing" mindset. Just diligently log the calories MFP gives you on here, give it a few months, don't restrict yourself too much, maybe move around a bit more or do some exercise (but it isn't necessary) and you will…
  • Same. I manually log my workouts into Fitbit. But they're not synced up, I just estimate (I don't recommend this, it's just laziness and not understanding technology. I'm at maintenance and it's worked so far so I'm not too bothered about it but it definitely leaves open room for error)
  • My "snacks" are usually around 25% of my calories. But I might be defining it differently to you. To me snacks are just any food that I eat that aren't part of my 3 main meals, whether it be an orange at 11am, a protein shake at 4pm, or a chocolate brownie at 9pm. I don't really think of different types of food as "snack"…
  • I tend to drink 1,000+ calories when I do drink (even drinking low calorie drinks) but I do it once a week at most, and try to take it into account during the previous week. I'll also go on a run or something that day to give me a bit more to work with. If you're not already drinking low calorie drinks (vodka with soda or…
  • I'm 5"3 and 127 pounds and eat 1800-2000 to lose around about 0.5 a week.
  • Every day, when I wake up, naked, after using the bathroom and before eating or drinking anything. I track it in a trend app (Libra)
  • I'm not sure, it's just looks that way on the MFP daily summary on days I use MMR. Perhaps they're coming from Fitbit via MMR and that's why it looks like they've come from MMR on MFP. Thanks for your reply :)
  • It depends on you. I weigh myself every day but fluctuations don't bother me. If you think you'll be upset at fluctuations it might not be a good idea. But then again, weighing every day and learning more about your body and its fluctuations (and using a weight trend app) could be helpful for you.
  • Mine too! I used to mostly drink cider, put on a lot of weight and had awful hangovers. I've switched to vodka now and the hangovers are much, much better. OP, I regularly drink 1,000 calories of alcohol on a night out (regularly = one a week-ish) and it hasn't stopped my weight loss. It might have slowed it but I've still…
  • Like others have said, MFP is designed to build your calorie deficit in to your food; if you exercise then you get extra calories which you can then eat. Just maybe don't eat back all of them, to take into account overestimations of calories burned and under-estimations of calories eaten. Personally, I don't think your…
  • You don't need to pay any more money to lose weight. Try not to get sucked in by scams that promise quick weight loss. Sustainable weight loss is often slow - at your weight 1-2 pounds (at the most) a week. It can also help not to set strict weight loss goals for specific times. If you lost 1-2 pounds a week until…
  • I second Lesley Fightmaster on YouTube. I try to use her videos every day (she has hundreds so you never get bored). She also has a 30-day beginner's challenge which I'd recommend, to ease you into it and learn about alignment and breathing etc. Yoga with Adriene is also another popular channel on YouTube.
  • It has for me. I do vinyasa and power yoga though. Gentler types of yoga such as hatha, no I wouldn't say they have much of an impact on weight loss.

  • Snack on lower calorie things, like vegetables or (certain) fruits
  • Yes, eat them back. Your deficit is already built into your calorie goal when you use MFP. You need the extra food as fuel for your workouts, especially if they're hard 400-calorie workouts.
  • Don't worry about it *too* much, it's your holiday. But don't go crazy either. Use your calories on the foods you really enjoy rather than mindlessly going back for more so-so food, just cos it's there. Do extra walking or go for a run. Or you could have 2 meals: a late breakfast, no lunch, and more calories to spend on…
  • A few pounds, maybe up to 5. I'm not sure cos I don't weigh myself during my period, I don't see the point. If it really bothers you then hold off until it's finished.
  • I usually go over on my fat allowance and it hasn't stopped me losing weight.
  • No, not really. I tend to look at calories weekly. So on Saturday, I went over by nearly 1,100 calories but weekly it didn't really matter as I had eaten less throughout the week. This weekend will be the same as it's my birthday. The way I look at it is, it took me a lot of going over to put on the weight I did, one day…
  • I personally don't find cereal very filling, so I don't eat it. I suppose eventually you might get used to the recommended serving size or you could bulk it out with fruit or protein powder. Or eat a little more than a recommended size if it fits your calories. Or you could find something else for breakfast that will keep…
  • My hips bones and bum bones are sometimes uncomfortable when I'm lying or sitting down. I've also stopped waking my boyfriend up snoring all the time :D
  • Same! MFP is DESIGNED for you to eat back your exercise calories. I typically eat back 50% but sometimes 100%.
  • Hope this works, I've never attached photos before. Not sure of the difference between them as I'm not sure how much I weighed in the first one, but I'd guess it's around 30 pounds. Only problem is, now my cheeks wrinkle when I smile! I never had this problem when I was this weight before so *shrug* who knows.
  • A portion of cereal is horrendously small! Couldn't believe it the first time I weighed it out.
  • A simple but very effective tip. We have 2 sizes of dinner plates and I've stopped using the larger, flatter ones and only use the slightly smaller ones that have a curved rim. A lot less food looks like a good generous portion on them.
