Some meats taste better and are juicier with the bones. You don't need to throw the bones away. You can make stock with them. It will be cheaper than store-bought stock and will taste a million times better. For some, those bones end up saving us money.

I log everything, every grape, pea and sprinkle of wheat germ. I'm glad I do. If you track your nutrients, you may be in for a bit of a surprise, finding out that you don't ever get close to certain RDAs.

Yes. You'd have to eat about three pounds of watermelon to get the calories in a large McDonald's fry. The watermelon will give you more nutrients. There are many worse things to eat to lose weight.
