Are you sure you are not pregnant?

An alcoholic knows to avoid alcohol. If you really can't stop, avoid potatoes. No semi potatoes, faux potatoes, or even small portions of potatoes.

If someone would divorce their wife over boob size, they are pretty worthless.

I think if you look at Craigslist for a week you might find good equipment. I found a wonderful set of weights, bench, etc. for not very much (although I had to paint some of the stuff, especially the plates, that had a bit if rust). I spent a good deal of time planning how to integrate the equipment into the room that I…

They sell whey protein shake powder. I use Body Fortress, I get it at Walmart. I use a mini blender and it is delicious.

How about a daily protein shake?

Thank you. I suddenly gained 5 lbs, thinking it is water weight and wondering if the salty chicken bouillon I had the past couple days had anything to do with it. I think you are right that just ordinary salting of foods should be enough.

Some of us fall down and get up and try again. Others fall down and stay acquainted with the floor a little bit longer :) Glad you are back up and making plans.

So I successfully did about 40 minutes on the cycle. I think that will help offset the salad dressing if it is done daily, plus I'm becoming more fit. Yesterday was my lifting day also (I'm lifting every other day). I definitely feel there is progress :)

Daylitemag, I admit to being a beginner at low carb eating, but try to keep my carbs around 25-35 day, by counting and planning. Would it be possible for you to count and plan, and perhaps have a small apple, and stay within the guidelines you have set for yourself? I have found sugar free jello and nocal fruit flavored…

My youngest son and his gf are hosting a covered dish Thanksgiving this year again. Unlike last year, they are vegetarians, I am eating low carb, and my other son is as he was last year, diabetic, and there will be guests. We are all putting thought into what we will bring so that everyone can partake. A turkey will not be…

The danger in obsessing when you go over your goal is that you might give yourself permission to stop trying. Just treat every day as a new chance.

I snack on those little cheese cubes that come in a plastic bag, sold in the dairy-cheese section of the store. Around 7 of them is a serving, it isn't a lot but enough for a snack.

I read about keto and the relationship between dieting and exercise. There is a lot of lack of information and misinformation out there, having some technical knowledge allows me to make better and more informed decisions so that my efforts are more likely to be successful.

Thank you!

Thanking people for their time but asking for something different that fits their needs, is a skill many women might find helpful. Too often, women settle. Being agreeable while asking for more help is a positive step. It appears you are saying that your peers are ignorant? I don't think so. I've actually seen some pretty…

I appreciate the answers but I would like someone who is more physiology savvy to provide an exact scientific explanation.

I eat cheese every day, but I closely monitor portions.

Jasmine, After the first 20 lbs. you will look better and feel better, and justifiably feel proud of yourself. That helps. I like your attitude too of overcoming your weaknesses, you are a winner!

Yes. I said as much, in saying that one should stand up for some things. But being generally muleheaded can cause a lot of conflict in relationships one wants to keep.
-
That is not an achievement. While one should certainly act on, and stand up for, what one thinks is right, many parts of human coexistence require some give and take.

It's not the Ten Commandments. It is OK to be a little flexible, we aren't all the same.

I purchased a weight set and some other machines, have been exercising at home.

Both of you give examples of older people already lifting. My post was about older people just now getting into weightlifting, for modest gains or to prevent some muscle loss. I absolutely think there is a place, and a need, for a modest strength training program for many seniors who have not done this before.

I drink no cal fruit flavor drinks, it satisfies if I want something sweet. I never felt guilt.

Walmart is starting its online grocery service in my area, and I'm going to give it a try- you make a list, show up at a particular time, they load the groceries. I'm doing keto and in perusing the list found all sorts of interesting stuff I could eat. Crab meat, sardines in olive oil, other seafood, fresh turnips and…

"Am I too old to get my life back???" That is up to you. If you talk to just about any older person, they will tell a story of challenges faced and overcome. Cancer is a big challenge, but others have faced abuse, broken marriage, prison, loss of loved ones, economic hardships, and have conquered their challenges and…

It is all a matter of perspective (my opinion only, I do not have the experience or credentials to back it up, but it is what I think). If you are a strongman, it makes sense to realize you aren't always going to be at the height of your powers, and to adjust downwards. If you are not strong to begin with, facing further…
