Sure thing!

Hi Jen! Welcome to the group! As you have noticed, we have all sorts of runners here, and we welcome anyone and everyone. If we can be of help along the way, or provide any feedback and/or support, don't hesitate to reach out and someone will no doubt be of great help. All the best!

Done!

Work is crazy! Sorry...I'm trying.
-
I'm always in need of extra motivation to keep me active and on track. Every little bit helps.

I'm a bit of a Polar geek. I bought the M400 smartwatch a few months ago, and I swear by it now. It tracks just about everything, and you can link it to your phone to get notifications too. I also just bought myself an early Christmas present, with the M450 bike computer. Yep...I'm a geek.

Great job everyone, and thank you for inviting me to the challenge. Even though I didn't lose a great amount of weight, this challenge made/forced me to keep track of what I consumed on a daily basis, along with all the activities I attempted. Over the 5 weeks, I did manage to lose 1lb per week, so I am happy with that. If…

You can download your data through Garmin to Strava. I believe you can connect the two to automatically sync your workouts as well. Here's a link to show how you can connect (if you're interested): http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/08/automatic-mapmyfitness-endomondo.html

Found you! Request accepted!
-
If for whatever reason anyone is not able to send a request to join the Strava group, let me know and I will add you as a "friend", and add you to the group that way.
-
Strange. I have just looked, and I don't see your request.
-
Ok gang. If you are interested, here is the link to the Strava group: https://www.strava.com/clubs/rascallyrunners Everyone is welcome, but it is closed just to us, so you will need to request to be a member.
-
Ok. I will set up a group on Strava (which also links to MFP), and send everyone the link. For those who aren't familiar with Strava, it is a GPS tracking multi-sport system, that allows you to challenge yourself and others, and compare similar routes/workout to see how you have progressed. You can also see through one of…

Hi All. Andy here, from Ottawa, Canada. I started running about 8yrs ago, when my wife asked if I wanted to join her on one of her "short" training runs. My first though was, 'how hard could this be', and I quickly realized the reality when I got my butt kicked. Since that day the challenge was on, and I have ran close to…
-
We're in a group called "Rascally Runners" too. Come join us if you like. All experience levels are welcome.
-
Nice! That's totally something I would have thought too.
-
Personally, I don't like the word "diet". It's a four letter word that keeps coming back. If you keep doing what you're doing, and making healthy food choices, you can't go wrong. The challenge is, if you dropped too much competition weight, you may look like you have ballooned in the off-season regardless.
-
If we keep going the way we are, I'd say we have a good chance. Either way, we're doing great!
-
I typically run halfs, and have a good training plan. I will see if I can post it for you, but if not, I will get it to you some other way.

I train with music all the time, but for some reason on race day, I have no interest in it. I find there is so much going on around you, that you are distracted by the little things. Depending of you are one to keep track of your pace, there is that distraction too. This is just me though. Music does get me through the…

There's gotta be more keeners out there! No??
-
You are more than welcome to join us, even if you're not a runner "yet". Everyone needs to start somewhere, and this group is a good place just for that. You can ask questions, get pointers, training plans, etc. It's all about motivation, regardless of your experience or level.
-
Ottawa here! Feel free to add me too.
-
Hi all.
-
HA! Yep...we go WAY back!! We've know each other what....2 weeks now?!
-
I'm with you on that.
-
41 and on a good day I'm 30 again. Always looking for new friends.
-
Real sugar is the way to go, if you need to sweeten things. Me...I'm sweet enough already, so I don't use any in my coffee. lol
-
I'm always up for meeting new friends. The invite is there for anyone to add me. Motivation is key!

@chulipa I think the main thing about this "competition" is the outcome that you yourself achieve. Worrying about the others who joined, who may have other obligations, interests, schedules, should not be your main focus. For those of us who are still taking part, and motivation others, take advantage of those people, and…
