I'm also just coming back, and am also looking for added motivation. As it's said..."help me, to help you". Adding you now!

New friends and motivation are always welcome. Feel free to add me.

I'm not quite sure how to respond, but if that is you in your profile photo, you don't need to be losing 7kgs. That's a considerable amount, and from what I see, you look great. Personally, I don't think there is such a thing as "professional weight losers". If you are living a healthy and active lifestyle, you will be in…

Your Polar Beat is the more accurate calculation. The app will never be 100% accurate, but it's not far off. I am curious about your wattage though, with it only being 85. Do you mean cadence, because that would make more sense.

I don't typically comment on things like this, but after reading your post, I think those who have told you that you have an eating disorder, are idiots. There is a very big difference between "eating disorders" and "disordered eating", and I don't believe you have either. Most of us have some form of disordered eating,…

My kids, are what motivates me to exercise. I want to be able to have the energy, and for as many years as possible, so that I can play and be active with my kids throughout their youth. Personally there is nothing worse that having a lazy Dad who doesn't want to play with his kids. More importantly, and for my own…

Me three! Add me if you like.

Hello ON, CAN...from a fellow ON, CAN. Motivation is definitely a keep piece to getting back in to it. Especially this time of year, when the weather changes and the days get shorter. What are your interests when it comes to staying active? What was your past within sport? Is that something you want to get back in to, or…

There's always a need for friends to guide you through those tough days. Motivation is key! Add me too!!

Meh...there are good calories and bad calories. Eating to replenish what you burned during a ride is not a bad thing though. If you leave yourself feeling hungry, that's when you start searching for junk food to fill the void.

I was about to ask if you have access to a track, and knowing that you are in Colorado, you should definitely take advantage of the boards over the winter months. That is a great way to get your miles in, work on your handling skills, and potentially even race a bit too. If you have the strength, track riding could be a…

Hi Jenna, I haven't read all the posts on this thread, but my question/s to you first is not about how to lose weight, but what your goal as a competitive cyclist is. Are you on a team, or riding independently? Are you racing in crits, one day classics, stage races, or all of the above? If you're on a team, what is your…

I'm always up for additional motivation myself, especially during this time of year when we have to turn the clocks back just to try and get an extra ounce of daylight. Not to mention the fact that we'll be blanketed with snow soon too!! The goal is to stay as active as possible this winter, and not fall in to that easy…

Who has time for "nice" anyway?! HA! Motivational comments on MFP should be more along the lines of..."get yer *kitten* in gear, SLACKER!!".

Exactly!! I think you nailed it right on the head, and is one of the reasons why I was frustrated by going to the gym. The whole reason on going in the first place, is to workout/exercise and feel good about yourself, isn't it?!? The gym isn't a night club, or some other pick-up joint. Like you said, there are those who…

From "Winterpeg" to Arizona!! Quite the change in year-round temperature.

Motivation is key. If you want to add me, I'd be willing to help as long as I can get some motivation in return.

Happy May Long Weekend everyone!! Be sure to take advantage of that extra day!

I know quite a few people who have invested in a Fitbit, or one of those other fitness tracking watches. I don't have one myself, but I have heard good things.

I'm not sure about Mother Nature these days. A few days ago, we were in the 20's, and then this morning it was -1c with the windchill??? NOT COOL is all I have to say!

Ottawa here! Always looking for fellow Canuck friends on here. Feel free to add me.

It could be an IT issue, as mentioned earlier, plus a glute and hip flexor issue as well. If these are all weak, then your knee pays the price for it. It is otherwise known as "runner's knee". Be sure to stretch often, and work on all the muscle groups that surround the knee.

I've been on here for a little while, but feel free to add me. Motivation is key!

Hello from a fellow Canadian!! Now that the weather is FINALLY turning nice, it will make things easier to get outdoors and achieve those goals. All the best!!

So with all the Canadian teams out of the playoffs, who is everyone cheering for? Or are you cheering??

Are you looking for a road bike, or a hybrid (combination of a road and mountain bike)? If you are looking for a road bike, you won't find anything decent for what's in your price range. If you consider a hybrid, you could find a good bike within the 3-400 range. The key thing that you need to do when shopping for a bike,…
