I'm originally from Louisiana but moved a lot through my life. I have also lived in Texas, Tennessee, and now Minnesota. I met my husband on eHarmony which is how I ended up in Minnesota.
I'm a nurse and also a certified lactation counselor.
My challenges are I love food and am not fond of sweating. I work 40+ hours a week at the hospital. I'm scheduled 12 hour shifts 3 days a week; on those days when I'm on my feet most of the day I don't want to come home and exercise. We are not allowed to have our phones on us except for breaks (which is what I use to count my steps). I will need to find a new way to count steps.

If you are trying to lose weight, exercise is not necessary at the beginning. Exercise is for fitness. You must change your diet in order to lose weight.

I know quite a few people who have invested in a Fitbit, or one of those other fitness tracking watches. I don't have one myself, but I have heard good things.

Do you pack your lunch. My husband works the same shift as you 12hrs 3 days on 2 days off 2days on 3 days off rotating. If you prep and pack your lunch earlier then you can record it before you get to work and stay within your calories
