  • Hi, feel free to add me, too! Middle age hit a few years back and I slowly creeped up (exacerbated by a foot injury and two international moves). When I started registering weights I hadn't seen since having my babies (four, who are now 14-23) I realized I either had to reconcile myself to this new version of me or fight…
  • When I turn sideways I don't look like I'm three months pregnant! Ha!
  • One thing that helps me is to pick a breakfast and eat the same thing all week. It sounds boring, but it gets me off on the right foot each day and I make it something I like but is not heavy on calories. (For example, recently I've been eating oatmeal I make with skim milk, then adding a few craisins, nuts and honey.)…
  • I ended up having a little bit of everything and working out more. I actually lost this week so I'm happy to have done this in a way that I can maintain as a lifestyle! Thanks all for lots of good tips!
  • SW 145.2 W1 143 W2 (in Europe) W3 145.2...bummer! I had worked really hard to get off this 145 plateau and got sidetracked on our trip. Made some great memories, just hope I don't fall off the wagon on Thursday!
  • Wow! I guess that should help! Happy holidays.
  • Zoodles (zucchini noodles) are really good!
  • Made a smoothie with cucumber and spinach tonight (and a green apple). Not my favorite, but I did feel like I was doing something good for myself.
  • Another thing that has helped me in many areas the last few years is to remember that things usually aren't all or nothing. If I can't do a full workout, it doesn't mean I can't workout. I can still do a half-workout. If I messed up eating at one meal, it doesn't mean I give up and let myself go the rest of the day. I just…
  • I can exercise hard (hill workouts, pull-ups, HIIT) for 30 minutes and not be sore the next day!
  • A quote I have up in my kitchen is "Better to live with the pain of discipline than with the pain of regret."
  • Yes, thanks for starting this!
  • Starting weight 145
  • I'm trying to * eat more vegetables and protein * avoid white sugar/flour * 30 minutes of walking/running or 3 miles or 30 minutes of HIIT (6 days/week) * And stay under on calories.
  • I feel silly asking this, but how can we add each other as friends? :)
  • I'm right there with you. I started at 153 about five weeks ago ago, now I'm at 147. Want to get back to about 135. So, 12 more to go. I've been hovering at this weight for about a week. Last year around December, I think, I started MFP and I had gotten down to 141 before a family crisis hit and the rest of my spring was a…
  • Hey, is this board still active? Would love to be added! I'm 46 and would like to build muscle and lose about 15 pounds...it all has crept on since the clock hit 40! Started MFP last year but had to stop mid-year due to life craziness and have just gotten back on in the last month. Just went to a hotel gym this week with…
  • Hi, I'm Stacey and I live in Turkey. I hit my 40's, had some major life changes and injuries and suddenly I'm two sizes bigger than I used to be. I'm trying to make a change of lifestyle as well and eat more moderately. 15 pounds by the New Year might be beyond what I can do, but I'm going to go ahead and start now! I've…

  • Hey ladies, I may need to take a break from this for a week or two, but I will return. I hope you will both do great and keep up the good progress. I need to take an extended trip to take care of someone and I don't know what it will require from me. Need to be able to focus on that. Hope to be back soon!
