You are married with a family. You have made a commitment to the woman who is now your wife. You say you are happily married. You don’t know this woman, after 20 years you will both have changed. You are playing with fire. I recommend you concentrate your efforts on the wife you say you love and the family you have and…

I’ve been working with a trainer for almost three years. I was 57 and obese, joined the gym because my son had announced his engagement and I wanted to look good in wedding photos. Honestly, if I didn’t have a trainer I would have lasted two weeks, when you walk into a gym it can be such a scary place, I knew what a…

Had a telephone conversation with someone we do business with who told me I am an inspiration and he is now making an effort to get back to the gym and lose weight because he has seen such good changes in me, not just the weight loss but the increase in confidence he has seen.

I had a call from one of the GP’s in the practice I go to with some x ray results. I had never seen this dr. She very kindly suggested it would help if I lost some weight. Only problem was that the dr who ordered the x ray hadn’t bothered to update my records, I had lost 70lbs. I had specifically asked him to note the…

I always have some DOMS after leg day, more or less depending on whether my trainer decides to change the routine around or not. Did legs today and he totally changed things up so expecting to be sore tomorrow. I very rarely get sore after upper body workouts although I have been sore each time the last few weeks. My…

I always gain over the weekend, it drops off quickly. I am less active over the weekends, no gym time. Have to live 😀

Big changes this week, moved from office based to working from home. Have treated my former commute time as workout time and upped my exercise and have kept my nutrition on tap. Early days but a good start

I have found that the guys in the weight room are very nice and helpful. I often have to ask for help, I’m short and can’t reach to change the bar on the last pull down for example, but anybody I have asked for help has been happy to do so and I’ve had so much encouragement from them

Was in gym this am doing lat pull downs with a very muscular guy waiting to work in. When I finished my set he commented that was really impressive. Made me feel so good. Secondly when I left gym found that my train home had been cancelled. Just walked home, only three miles. It’s 10.30 am and I have 500 steps to meet my…

Gym for me. I leave the house with my husband in the morning, which is much earlier than I need to for work. Can be at the gym in 15 mins or less, workout, shower and be at work in good time. There is too much needing my attention at home, I would just put the washing on, just have coffee, just feed the dog and the time…

Carry on exactly as I am

My first time ever in the gym, while my PT was carrying out initial assessment all I could hear was some buy grunting, scared the life out of me. Two years on it is highly likely to be me grunting, that’s the 5ft 3, size 8 almost 60 year old grandma. Have to admit the first time that happened I scared myself

This is a big one for me, last week after an exhausting work week I recognised I needed a rest and didn’t go to the gym at the weekend.

I do very little cardio apart from walking to and from work. I weight train 2/3 days per week and do a Pilates class once a week. Have lost almost 70lbs in less than two years, weight training does make me hungry though, I'm just careful what I eat

I was 57, the only exercise I had was walking to work, uk size 20 and growing. Was starting to have difficulty getting in and out of the bath and experiencing hip and knee pains. Then my son announced his wedding and my first thought was I didn't want to look like this in his wedding pictures. Long story short, I joined…
