The only time I’ve had a Dr comment on my weight, I had seen one Dr in my practice and needed to have some blood tests done. While I was there I asked him to note on my records my weight loss, I had lost 5 stone, he asked if I had planned the weight loss, which I had, and said he would note it on my records. Blood test…

I just get up and do it. Gym clothes are ready the night before, alarm goes off, I go to bathroom and dress and out the door. Grab a coffee on the way and by the time I get to the gym I am awake and ready to go

My Pilates class is above a cycle centre, they sell and repair bikes, do training and have a physio on hand for advice, and there is a Pilates/judo space. Over the time I’ve been taking classes there I’ve been amazed at the number of serious cyclists who’ve turned up for a Pilates class on the advice of a trainer or physio…

I started to lose weight Oct 15, my July 16 I was down 70lbs from UK 20 to UK 8/10. Have maintained since then, have put on 7lbs but that was deliberate, I looked too skinny! All post menopause. Once my brain was right the rest was easy

I went to a meeting with my boss, one of the guys we were meeting stood up to greet us, shook my hand and said where is it? I wasn’t expecting to give him anything and looked puzzled, so he said the other half of you. We had a family function, my husbands nephew arrived at the same time, as we got out of the car he went up…

My gym is about 15/20 mins away, I pay a slightly higher price per month so I can use other gyms in the group and bring my oh with me once a week. Seeing as I am there 4 x week, and use a larger one 1x week when I see my PT, it works out at less than £2 per visit, and I could also do classes if I wanted to. Excellent value

On holiday I eat a breakfast and lunch as close to what I normally eat then eat what I like at dinner, if my hotel has a gym I stick as near to possible to my routine plus I add in activities that are not part of my normal routine, tennis, swimming etc. I am usually a few pounds up but it drops off quickly once I am home…

I gave up Diet Coke 3.5 years ago when I first started in the gym, as recommended by my PT. never missed it until the day after my sons wedding, 9 months later, was tired and hungover, took a cold can out of fridge, had one mouthful and threw the rest away, it was foul, can’t believe I drunk so much of it in the past,

I really wouldn’t want my PT exercising with me, I pay him to pay attention to my form and to teach me, why do you feel you should be exercising with your clients?

My sister told me she was glad I was doing something about my weight as she was worried about my health, coming from someone who is 6” shorter and at least 28lbs bigger than I ever was, who refuses to use mfp because it’s too much faff but thinks drinking aloe Vera juice will help her lose weight, then spends a whole…

I’ve had the whole range of comments, from people who have been very supportive, to an acquaintance who refused to believe I was not ill to the friends who have never commented at all and the friend who told me everybody was talking about me when I had left the party.

Printer repair man visiting the office overheard part of a conversation and jumped in with you can’t lose weight without doing cardio, when he heard two of us discussing our lifting routines. My co worker asked him where the 70lbs I have lost had gone then, his response was well it won’t stay off. 18 months later that…

Me too, I turn 61 in March, up until 57 I was aging rapidly, had constant pain in my hips etc, started exercising, eating sensibly and the weight fell off and as if by magic the pain disappeared.

I found 50 really hard, but I think that was because my mum died when she was 50. I turned 60 earlier this year, I am fitter, more confident, and thoroughly enjoying my life now

Tried on a dress that I really liked on the hanger, looked awful on me but for the first time I didn’t think it was my fault, told myself it was a bad design and moved on

Yesterday morning I hit that magical number on the scale, I’ve been maintaining/tracking my weight for over a year now, happy with the weight I had achieved, but yesterday I hit that number that I thought was impossible. That made me very happy but then in the evening I had a call from my son and daughter-in-law telling me…
