Hi, I was going to suggest joining us at Fit, Fabulous and Pregnant too - the more the merrier! Here is the link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1903-fit-fabulous-pregnant I am trying to work on my protein intake too, and having six small meals/snacks every day to keep intake constant. Be careful with tuna as…

Personally I don't like processed things so I wouldn't know about shakes, but eggs are good too! I have them for breakfast every day and sometimes for a snack too. And lentils, chickpeas, cheese, nuts. It all adds up.

When not pregnant I like to run, and I ran a 5k race in early pregnancy and was going to do another half marathon in March, but like someone said earlier I find running hard when pregnant. I too get pelvic pain and I always get a bit bump - and even before that appears those sore boobs make running uncomfortable. In fact,…

I found this scientific guidance for Obstetricians and Gynaecologists here in the UK and it explains that due to the changes is basic metabolic rate during pregnancy and the variations in this from woman to woman, some women only need 13,000 kcal to support a pregnancy and others 80,000. So really, the only thing you can…

I had a start weight just into the obese category and my OB told me to only gain 10 pounds the whole pregnancy. Seeing as you can easily loose 20 within a couple of days of birth (baby, water, placenta, uterus shrinking back and blood volume normalising) this would actually mean a loss. I am focusing on eating as healthily…

900 in about 1 1/5 hour equates to 600 kcal an hour, which sounds a little much but I guess with the incline it might be? There is a group on here for pregnant ladies if you want to join: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1903-fit-fabulous-pregnant Great for pregnancy specific support :)

Hi Mel, and welcome! I am actually due in June (and the beginning, so 2 months ahead of you) but I am also expecting my 4th. I put on 35-45 pounds with each of the others, managed to loose it after the first two but never did after the third (in fact gained some more!) and therefore had a starting BMI of 32 and hope to…

Don't feel guilty! You are doing what you can to stay active so that's great - even if it is at home. I have just had my gym membership frozen for 6 months as I was too busy to go often enough to warrant spending the money on it, and I actually managed to do more exercise from home (little and often) than the gym sessions…

Fernt - maybe your body is telling you to charge your batteries and get ready??? I have always lost weight quickly after having a baby despite not doing any exercise as between breastfeeding and long walks with the baby it just fell off. Maybe not the same exercise fix that you want, but your priorities definitely change…

Hi there, I have been lucky and never got any morning sickness but in return I get extremely tired in first trimester (this is my 4th baby). I am working from home so I ended up waking up late, having breakfast and then going back for a nap for a few weeks (I had a cold too so that didn't help). I found it worst between…

Great looking bump, Bananas! Not long to go now! Marie, I was originally due 6th June but they moved it to the 4th when I had my scan. I have always gone 11-12 days over though so I am expecting it to be mid-month too. I am 15 weeks today and have lost that half pound I put on last week - I think I must have just been…

How are you getting on?

Marie, you must be due just a couple of weeks before me! I am due in the first week of June. I am just over 14 weeks now. I gained half a pound this week (busy week with lots of Christmas lunches and parties) but I am still below my starting weight. In my previous three pregnancies I have always gained 3-5 kg by this point…

13 weeks today and down 2.6 kg or nearly 6 pounds. I saw my obstetrician this week and she is happy with this, and does not want me to put on much weight at all during pregnancy.

I had my first scan today. It never seizes to amaze me how many ways I feel fat in - now I can add the "poor visibility" on the US report to my collection..... Next scan in 2 months so now I have to concentrate on not making the visibility worse for then!

Yes, even if I don't manage to do it every day, aiming at doing it every day helps me achieve a lot more than if I didn't try at all! I still haven't managed to find the time/motivation to try the exercise DVDs - I have an exam coming up next week so perhaps after that will be easier. The extreme fatigue seems to be…

I find fitting in time for exercise difficult too, with work and three kids already. But this summer I got an exercise bike which I have been trying to use for at least 20 min every evening. Telling myself it is just 20 minutes means I am less likely to skip it than if I was aiming for something more, and if I do it over a…

Congratulations on your pregnancy! There is a group on here called Fit, Fabulous and Pregnant - you should come and join. I just did today (due in June). http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1903-fit-fabulous-pregnant Also, I have just ordered Tracy Anderson Pregnancy Project - it is a set of 9 DVDs, one for each…

I am 10 weeks and down 3 pounds due to eating more healthily! I haven't been dieting as such, just cut out cakes and wine etc.
