  • You need the post-partum group, they are over on http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/639-post-partum-pack See you there in a few months!
  • HALFWAY!!!! 20 weeks :) Ok, technically halfway.....but since I always go almost two weeks over, I recon I am not halfway until next week. I still haven't gained any weight though, with my first I had gained 16 pounds at this stage - this time I have lost 4.5 so I count that as being over 20 pounds better off! The other…
  • Well done on the healthy living, Lisa!
  • I had to split my post in half to prevent loosing it again... Today I got my fruit and veg though: Breskfast: smoothie (mango, banana, celery, lemon, apple, cucumber, orange) Lunch: Sweet potato, red lentil, butternut squash and carrot soup Pear and apple for snacks Dinner: Stir fried (using oil spray only) onion, carrot…
  • Argh, just lost a long post I typed to reply! The main thing I wanted to add to what the others have said is that I try to get as much hidden veg into what I cook. SO I will make e.g. a chilli con carne with onion, celery, grated carrot, tomatoes, and use half meat and half red split lentils (which counts as a veg for…
  • Lisa, how often do you weigh yourself? I find my weight fluctuates a lot for the reasons you mention, so I prefer to check more often and take an average.
  • Ixeeta, well done on not gaining anything until 21 weeks. You're target weight gain is similar to mine (less if I can help it) Sammy, I lost a couple of pounds in those early weeks too, without any sickness. Not sure why, but not complaining! Prepreg: 0.0 Total: 0.0 1 w: 0.0 Total: -0.1 2 w: 0.0 Total: -0.1 3…
  • I didn't realise you could do that, sounds great. I never have problems with fibre and iron though, much more worried about protein and not carb overloading. :)
  • I have had 3 hours test in all pregnancies before (three of them) as I always have big babies (10 1/2 pound), but they always come back normal. Hoping it will be the same this time - already booked in for a 3 hour test when I am 28 weeks (and an extra growth scan at 34 weeks). From what I understand, getting regular…
  • Maybe a seamstress can adjust it a little? Make a corset back to it so it can expand with you??
  • So you will be around 20 weeks for the wedding? I am 19 weeks this week and whilst I have not gained any weight I have definitely expanded around the waistline and I am in full maternity wear, cannot button up my coat etc. Every subsequent pregnancy we tend to expand a little faster (everything is pre-stretched) so just be…
  • Thanks, that is really helpful. I still have mine set to 50 carbs as well but I try to keep it a bit below - it is hard though as we love carbs in this family (used to live in Italy.....). I have several risk factors for gestational diabetes, so ideally I would keep carbs nearer to 40.
  • Not yet, but I am trying! I gained 35-45 pounds with my other three pregnancies, lost it easily the first two times but not the third so started this one rather overweight (read: obese). My OB wants me to gain max 10-12 pounds, maintaining would be great. So far I am 19 weeks and still haven't regained the 4-5 pounds I…
  • Fern, congratulations again! Well done on the weight management too!! Sardelsa, not long to go now!

  • Hi ajl and Ruby - welcome! Feel free to add me! I am trying so hard not to gain too much so I am logging and exercising every day and with a few friends there is a bit of banter on the home page.
  • Bananas, congratulations on your little girl! Well done for staying within your goal weight range too. Pregnancy week Weekly change Total change 1 0.0 -0.1 2 0.0 -0.1 3 -0.9 -1.0 4 0.9 -0.1 5 -2.0 -2.1 6 1.3 -0.7 7 0.0 -0.7 8 -3.1 -3.8 9 -0.4 -4.3 10 -0.7 -4.9 11 -0.7 -5.6 12 0.0 -5.6 13 0.2 -5.4 14 0.0 -5.4 15 0.2 -5.2…
  • I have been eating too much too, but I have made a habit out of using my exercise bike before bed to try to offset some of the calories. I aim to do at least 30 min, but often I do 50 and one day 1 hr and 15 min (after hitting the chocolate tin earlier in the day...) This has helped control the Christmas gain, so it has…
  • Marie, 7 lbs at 21 weeks is great, so don't worry about those numbers going up. It is all part of the plan ;) I don't get weighed at appointments so that plan doesn't work for me. I am a bit of a serial weigher, but I take it with a pinch of salt. I prefer to see the fluctuations and know what the middle range of that is…
  • Just being pregnant would do it! 1900 isn't a lot at all. I am 17 weeks and eating up to 2500 calories a day (I burn off some through exercise, but I feel like I have to do the exercise as I would be hungry if I ate less...). Are you getting enough protein and fibre to keep full? Maybe you need to start increasing your…
  • Yes, I have been feeling flutters since 13 weeks (beign my 4th, I know what to feel for) but real kicks now! So nice and reassuring! Don't fret if you are a bit heavier after Christmas. I cut down on fruit, which I normally eat a lot of, in an attempt to cut down carbs so that I could increase protein and still be within…
  • Glad I am not alone in that - I am sticking to my calories, but ashamed of how much of it is chocolate! Just before Christmas I was thinking that I had not had any chocolate for months and didn't crave it at all. That cycle is well and truly broken after Christmas. Time to get healthy again! x
  • Hi Joanne, I am due in June, but the very beginning so I am only a few days behind you. There is no action on the due in June thread so may join you ladies if you don't mind. I gained 35-45 pounds with my other three and still have the last lot of that to get rid off so I really have to be careful not to add too much more…
  • Fern, whether that baby is early or late, it is not long to go now! Well done on managing your weight throughout. I love the dress you are wearing in your photo - is it that Isabella Oliver one? If so, I had my eyes on it in early pregnancy, but by the time my bump appeared and I went to buy it, they had sold out. Looks…
  • I finally managed to sort out an Excel sheet with my weekly changes - I hope this copy and paste works. Height 5' 7' Pre-pregnancy weight: 210 pounds (after not losing third lot of pregnancy weight and then gaining a fair bit over the last year) Aim to gain: 10-12 pounds (following OB/doctors advice) Pregnancy week Weekly…
  • I eat pretty much what I normally eat, but I have been trying to up my protein intake so I have lots of egg (breakfast - with a bit of avocado) and then usually fish for lunch and chicken/beef for dinner. All followed by lots of fruit which I cannot seem to get enough of, especially mango.
  • Come and join us on this group for pregnant ladies: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1903-fit-fabulous-pregnant I am currently 16 weeks with number 4 and trying hard not to gain 40 pounds this time! So far I haven't gained any. I have my calories set to 1500 and exercise calories (3-800 per day) and on this I am…
  • You must be about as far along as I am - I am 16 weeks now. I am focusing on not gaining too much, but all the cycling I have been doing has definitely built some muscle in my thighs and buttocks :) I want to do some weight training for my arms as well, but finding it harder to get into that.... There is this group for…
