  • Our Aldi is great, the veggies are fresh and stay fresh for ages, although I do check the raspberries VERY carefully as I have seen mouldy ones on the shelf! Fortunately we have a Morrison's and a Co-op nearby to get the little things that Aldi does not sell, but for the most part they usually have everything I need.
  • Building 'dens' in our local woods, having a tree house in a huge oak tree (in the same woods), summer evenings swimming in the river, roaming the fields surrounding our village. Riding ponies every day Chips (the bike cop show) Airwolf Blue Thundersley
  • Shirataki noodles. Just no.
  • I had the same problem with my iPhone 5s when it was about 18 months old, it would just turn itself off in temperatures around 3°C or lower, sooo frustrating . In the end I got a Samsung as the iPhone was due for upgrade.
  • Started week 4 of C210K and on my final 5min run I missed the voice command to start walking (traffic noise) and I just kept running! Things are getting easier! yay!
  • Thank you so much again for your time and advice @WinoGelato My goal weight is 8st 10lb (122lb) so yes, I have about 20lb to go. I currently have my loss set to 1lb per week. I fully intend on keeping up with my new activities so I may well switch to lightly active and enjoy some more yummy food and see how it goes.
  • Thanks for your advice @WinoGelato Yes, I got the calorie burn information from the FitBit website on my desktop. My average step count (7 days) is - 17500 Average calories burned (7 days) is - 2300 When I am not very active it is usually around 1700 - 1800 I have MFP and FitBit set to sedentary as I was a bit nervous of…
  • Thank you for all your replies, I do feel somewhat more reassured now and definitely better informed.
  • As mad as ten bears
  • As others have mentioned, use the recipe builder. I use it for every home cooked meal or sauce/soup and have found it invaluable.
  • I try to remember to take boots A-Z multi vitamins or Centrum chewable multi vitamins. I do this because I am fully aware that my diet is not perfect.
  • I do housework or food shopping, maybe just do a gentle walk, sometimes I do absolutely nothing and barely get 2000 steps in! For me, purposeful exercise is something I do not really enjoy, so I am happy to do nothing on a rest day, but that's just me.
  • @EauRouge1 thanks for your reply too! I am relieved to hear that I don't need to worry so much about the support of the shoe. Thanks to everyone for your advice so far, it has helped a great deal and I shall look forward to doing a bit of Internet searching before hitting the stores to try on a selection.
  • @jagodfrey08 thanks for your reply. I love Merrell's, I have a pair which do have better grip than my current running shoe, but I am ashamed to admit I like them so much I cannot bear to get them dirty so I just wear them for every day stuff :o thanks for reminding me about the brand.
  • @MeanderingMammal thanks for your reply and advice, it was very helpful. I will look into the range.
  • For lunches this week I have been having a bowl of my homemade Stilton and broccoli soup. I had ravioli and veggies for dinner last night and a huge jacket potato with tuna, mayo, sweetcorn and cheese for dinner tonight. Tomorrow it might be chicken and veggie stir fry with rice noodles.
  • I confess I think I am in the wrong thread.
  • I had a fitbit zip and I loved it. I found it accurate and it really helped me, i wore mine on my waistband ( im not a dress kinda girl) The only reason I don't use it now is because I got the charge 2 for Christmas ( wanted a HR function) .
  • I have just started the C210K programme and I'm currently on week 2 and i use 9km forestry trail near my home so the terrain is pretty varied. I really enjoy the programme because despite the fact that I can walk 20+ km in a day easily, I can't run for toffee! YET!
  • It is a great support network and the weekly weigh-ins really help.
  • I might have take out every other month (max). Mostly because it is about an 18 mile round trip! (No home deliveries here) On these rare occasions I try to find database entries that seem close to what I have ordered. If there are multiple entries with lots of variation in calories, I will choose one of the higher calorie…
  • Heartbreak Ridge The Goonies Gladiator A bit of a weird mix :) there are so many more....but that is my 3.
  • Rugby....I mean it's OK, but come on... This is utter blasphemy if you live in Wales, like I do.
  • I walk around my home, mostly around my dining table. I just watch TV and catch up with my favourite shows. I am happy doing this for hours. I might check out some of these people on YouTube that have been mentioned.
  • Yesterday I had: Breakfast: plain porridge with water Lunch: homemade broccoli & Stilton soup with cracker breads and some cucumber Dinner: lamb shank in rosemary & mint gravy with peas, potatoes, broccoli and white cabbage and a small glass of wine. I had a few cups of tea with skimmed milk during the day.
  • Another vote for the recipe builder, I find it really helpful. I have all kinds of things stored now from simple dishes with only 3 ingredients to more elaborate dishes with about 15 or more ingredients. If you love lasagne and casseroles (I love them) then the recipe builder is definitely something to try.
  • It is an eye opener, isn't it? I am enjoying losing on 1200 (I'm short, over 40 and female with a sedantry lifestyle). I enjoy chocolate, ice cream, cheese, chips (fries) to name just a few things, alongside fresh meat and veggies. Enjoy!
  • Hmmmm, perhaps contacting fitbit would be a good idea, my issues don't seem normal.
  • I previously a fitbit zip which, although basic, I loved and was still able to take part in challenges etc through the app. I now have a fitbit charge 2 and I have been left a bit underwhelmed with it. When I am driving it picks up bumps in the road surface and counts them as steps (my zip didn't do this) and it records…
