  • I have a vitamix and I love it - I also have a juicer and I can say I don't really use it that much. I love making my own green juices but I I don't stick with it because you need insane amounts of produce to make any substantial amount of juice (which gets expensive). So I would say get yourself a vitamix and you can use…
  • I do the same thing - except I tend to fall off my plan around the 5th week. The most important part is something you are already doing. Recognizing your habits and tendencies will help you so much. I am getting out of my more lenient phase right now and getting back on track. As long as you don't fall off the wagon for…
  • Born and raised in (south) Austin, still live here. North might as well be Canada.
  • Non Vegan - I eat out about 2x a month.
  • Last night I got home late, around 9 PM. Grabbed my half gallon of Blue Bell Pistachio Almond ice cream and ate three bites and put it away. why I buy such large quantities of ice cream I don't know. but usually I will mindlessly pick at it until I've eaten far more than I should. yay!
  • I recently found Krafts Caesar Vinaigrette and Greek Vinaigrette - they are surprisingly low in calories & more importantly (for me) low sugar and no weird preservatives. Also pretty damn cheap.
  • When I bake with splenda I will only substitute at most half the sugar in the recipe. When making brownies it seems to make them more "cakey" rather than dense and gooey. although I do think this makes a difference whether you use granulated or the fluffier splenda that is in the big bags.
  • http://www.thefirstmess.com/2013/03/06/spaghetti-squash-noodle-bowl-lime-peanut-sauce/ This is by far the best spaghetti squash recipe I've had. I modified her sauce recipe by substituting canned coconut milk in place of the whopping 1/2 cup of oil and it turns out great. I've also had success adding chicken and tofu, it…
  • I had problems binge eating after periods of long restriction - the main thing that has helped me is to shift your attitude about food. I know that this is something that you've probably heard before, but when you put it into action it helps so much. Try to eat healthy foods 80% of the time, and realize that no foods are…
  • Qunioa naturally contains a chemical coating (saponins) In nature it is meant to ward off bugs from eating the seeds. It can cause some GI issues and is generally unpleasant to eat. Normally this bitter tasting coating is removed before the quinoa is sold, however some brands may require rinsing before use. I make sure and…
  • I really like her dessert recipes! I've recently made her raspberry quick bread, apple crumble bars, crustless pumpkin pie... I don't use spelt flour like she calls for in a lot of her recipes and rarely will make anything completely sugar free - but overall I really like her recipes. To each their own, I guess!
  • Any kind of Shirataki "Miracle Noodle" things. And I am totally ok with glass noodles and weird textures but these were so gross and slimy and not even worth the 15 calories.
  • I agree with your points - however I would not recommend (to others) cutting out gluten unless you have diagnosed celiac disease. I've done a bit of research on this and if you do cut out gluten you can develop a sensitivity to it later on. Also many gluten free products are less healthy than their gluten free…
  • www.chocolatecoveredkatie.com This website is mostly vegan desserts but the recipes can all be modified easily. I've tried so many of her recipes and they all have come out great! especially if you like baking and have a sweet tooth.
