@fit_chickx it’s funny because I meal prep regularly but it’s usually only breakfast and lunch. Adding meal prep for dinner as well and having all 3 meals planned out so all we need to do is pop them in the oven feels very empowering - like there’s no reason why I should need to eat a half a slice or full slice of my…

I am preparing to start the 14 day Inspire Diet..have my white board written out with my meals, and tomorrow morning I plan to do some meal planning. Really hoping to get my head back where it needs to be - like what @buxombrunette said - everything in my life feels out of control but I can control my eating. My last…

@littlegibbs62 hope you get back to feeling better soon and that your cardiologist appt goes well! My trainer told me stress also contributes to what we see on the scale. Stress and lack of sleep are major issues for me right now.

@jamielslater I am so sorry to hear that you are going through a tough time! I actually received my package the other day when we were out of town so I didn’t start yet. We are still away but I plan to start next Monday since this week is a bit hectic once we get back with a bunch of different appointments and getting back…

@HLaR79 have you checked out Bariatric Eating, Bariatric Foodie and The World According to Eggface? They have some really good recipes for puréed foods and transitional foods for when you start eating more solid foods. Believe me, you will want to eat so slow - I ate too fast and had some bad dumping for a while because I…

@garber6th my friend (not a Bariatric patient) just started BeachBody and she really likes it. I tried their shakes and didn’t love them. You may want to also try Daily Burn which I believe is similar and you get a free trial. Also Peloton just launched an app which isn’t just made for their bike. They have boot camp,…

I’m here - struggling with a lot on the personal front. As everyone knows I have been dealing with a regain of about 20lbs over the last year or so. Decided to get the Inspire Diet 14 day box to get my head back on track and do some of what I was doing pre-op and help me get back on track. I don’t plan to use this forever…

Went on a weekend road trip and my daughter was sick all yesterday and the day before with a stomach thing. Met a friend of almost 20 years at the diner - and proud to say I ate just scrambled eggs and 2 small pieces of homefries which is awesome. More awesome is that while I forgot to pack the food we made at home for the…

I’m in a not so great place emotionally and unfortunately I noticed I got too lax with my eating. I want to feel good again and while I do agree that Whole Foods is the way to go, I just purchased the Inspire Diet 14 day box. Going back to my pre-op lifestyle for a short period with the hopes it gets my head back. Granted…

I have been baking yesterday and for the next couple of days - bringing stuff to my mom and good friend. Proud to say that I had 2 cookies, homemade rainbow cookies which are not something that is a super easy recipe since there are several steps. Unlike the past where I would gorge on them 1 or 2 was enough. My daughter…

@littlegibbs62 thanks for that and glad you are ok! I faced the music at the scale today and was up 0.6 lbs - could have been way worse but I think that trying to get myself back on track even though I didn’t make it to the gym this week helped. We go out of town on Thursday and come back Monday, so going to try to drink…

Today I worked from home and I DID NOT snack all day or even mindlessly. I made myself a protein shake for dinner - last week I missed weighing in but weighed the two weeks prior. I am going tomorrow and will face the scale so that I can keep myself accountable. Last week I was a bundle of nerves and didn’t eat great. I…

@HLaR79 it’s normal! Check out Bariatric Foodie, the World According to Eggface and Bariatric Eating’s recipe site - they all have great recipes for the purée stage. Good luck and we are here if you need anything!

@amandaskinner86 I am a little more than 2 years post op as well and trying to knock off 10-15 pounds since I had some Re-gain. I enjoy baking and have been doing it basically since I am walking. That said I make things in single servings and log them in MFP so if I really want something I have it and I also give most of…

So today I am finishing working from home because I needed to get my daughter to an appt. rather than make something for lunch in the house or snacking all day I heated up the lunch I brought to work today. My daughter woke up at 3:40 am when I was getting ready to leave to train but of course I didn’t get to do that so I…

@loveshoe I agree - if you don’t use something it’s a waste of $$. My membership is $219/mo. If I take my family off it’s still $129 but I don’t get to maximize the gym. I have been getting tons of amazing feedback about the Peloton plus they lunches a new app which includes weight training, running coaches, boot camp etc…

Agree with @HappyKat5 - we are all here if you need anything!

@HappyKat5 I feel your pain there! I didn’t go to spin yesterday because of her guilt tripping me. We put our membership at Lifetime on hold starting 7/30. We are still going to research the Peloton - my only fear is that it is novel at first and then becomes a place to ha f my clothes. I don’t think that is what will…

@HappyKat5 I am definitely an early bird..I am in my office by 7/7:30 at the latest so i need to get my workout done early. My commute home is an hour and a half so I go straight home because I go to bed an hour and a half to two hours after getting home. My daughter also had been trying to make me feel guilty when I am…

We don’t have any community centers near me. I used to go to the JCC but then they kept getting rid of classes I liked. Lifetime is where I go now - awesome gym but I don’t get enough out of it to justify the cost. Plus I have to work out really early before work - I leave the house around 4:30/4:45 am

For me as long as I feel a sense of being part of something I think I am fine regardless of whether someone is in the room with me or not. Often times there are vacant bikes next to me and no one really says more than good morning so I don’t feel like I necessarily have an accountability to anyone. I haven’t ever worked…

Sadly at my current gym there really isn’t any camaraderie. You may see the same people but you rarely get anything more than a good morning and that’s if you are lucky. I pay $220/mo for family and if I made it just me it would be $130/mo. Peloton to finance would be less than an individual membership including the $39…

Agree with what @HappyKat5 said. So sorry for your losses. We all have things that we go through, and we may slip up and that’s OK as long as we acknowledge it and get ourselves back on track. I have had a tough year as well, and I am working in getting my mindset right. We are all here for you if you need anything!

Thinking of you today and wishing you a speedy recovery!
-
@asp415 glad that you are doing well, and that’s definitely scary what you went through before surgery!
-
Congrats!
-
@5BeautifulDays we have all been there or like you going through it now. I am about 15-20 lbs above my lowest weight though I was there for a blip but trying to get back to the range where I was most comfortable. I will go back and look at when I first started this journey though I did exist on quite a few of the protein…

Welcome! Couldn’t agree more about people having the wrong idea about surgery being the easy way out - it’s so far from the truth!

I posted this in a different thread the other day: Here are some good resources I have found for products, recipes and just good blog posts: Bariatric Eating The World According to Eggface Bariatric Foodie Celebrate Vitamins Eat the Bear (love their protein powder) Chike (love their coffee based protein powders) Chocorite…
