1/1 = 10 miles & FB Strong Day 1 1/2 = FB Strong Day 2 1/3 = 3 miles and FB Strong Day 3 1/4 = 18 miles The sun was out!!!! :) Half of the trail was closed due to flooding so I had to run 18 miles by doing a loop over and over. Only the hilly part of the green belt was open. Ugh, I hate hills. I tried to detour into the…

@RisingAboveIt & @greyparks206 I did my last long marathon training run this morning. We are now #3 with 43.7 miles. Go team B!

Personally, I would not worry about how slow you are running at this point. I would work on time/distance before working on speed. You will naturally get faster as your distance increases. Other, more experienced, runners might have a better opinion. I am a pretty slow runner (because I hate speed work, I am old, I have…

I use the TomTom Spark 3. It is a little bit less expensive than a Garmin but still has all the features I want. The GPS is accurate and it has a heart rate monitor. You can upload music or a map onto the watch. I use the watch (vs. my phone) to listen to music on my short runs.

1/1 = 10 miles & FB Strong Day 1 1/2 = FB Strong Day 2 1/3 = 3 miles and FB Strong Day 3 Well, it was "only" freezing drizzle, instead of a downpour, this morning so I squeezed in 3 miles. It is supposed to be warmer and sunny tomorrow so I am hoping to fit in a long run. January goal miles = 75 / Miles to date = 13…

I changed my RTY "display" name and updated the spreadsheet.

I don’t know. Getting “lost” might be a huge problem for some participants (depending on their race hydration and fueling strategy). The Facebook page says there is an aid station every loop - 384.55 potential stops. The aid station will be serving beer, margaritas, Fireball and Bloody Marys ........

@greyparks206 Go you! I had to cancel my run this morning due to freezing rain. I am not THAT hard core of a runner. LOL I should get in some miles tomorrow before work (as long as the rain stops). Go team B!

1/1 = 10 miles & FB Strong Day 1 1/2 = FB Strong Day 2 It was pouring rain and freezing cold so no run for me this morning. I signed up for Fitness Blender and started their 4 week "Strong" program yesterday. Goal for 2019 = Add in more cross training activities (and run all the races I signed up for - see below) without…

Happy New Years! I have someone named Broomy trying to join our team. Is that someone on this thread?
-
@polskagirl01 It must be something in the air. I did the same thing. I just couldn't get my lazy butt out of bed this morning.
-
I did the same thing. I put my day to start but had to set my last 2 run to zero in the tracker.
-
Yey! I am so happy everyone is excited about this. :)

@Elise4270 I think this absolutely counts. I learned to run with walk/run intervals. I currently schedule walk/run intervals for all my long runs. I am training with a 1 minute walk break every half mile on runs longer than 10 miles. I am doing this walk/run schedule when I run the Miami Marathon in a few weeks. Just…

@shanaber Hooray for healthy feet! I am so glad you were able to run without pain! Be careful about pushing yourself. The one thing peroneal tendinitis of my left foot taught me - listen to your body. I now use my left foot as a gauge. It sends me tweaking pain reminders when I start doing too much. :/

@greyparks206 I find running in a treadmill extremely boring and demotivating. It’s not fun for me so I tend to skip runs rather than go to the gym and hop on the treadmill. Maybe if I had one at home in front of the TV? I would much rather run outside. Running on the treadmill also hurts my knees for some reason?
-
@somethingsoright Welcome! Kudos to you getting back to running after knee surgery. I watched my mom go through two knee replacements- the recovery from surgery was crazy! A lady who introduced me to my current running group started running at the suggestion of her orthopedic surgeon (strength to the knee). She hasn’t…

I once won a Strava running contest. I won a pair of free “Runderwear” (a running specific running underwear brand thing). I now enter all the contests in hopes of winning something amazing one day. I am constantly trying to win new shoes and race entries (hint, hint Strava administrators....). You also get virtual bling…

^this. We run for the same reasons @katharmonic

@MobyCarp Personally, I think signing up for a race because you like the name is a fantastic reason. Is there a “Middle Finger” finisher t-shirt? Oh...what does the medal look like??? ;)

Okay guys, It’s not even January 1st. How am I already behind on the January running thread?!? I am tapering for the Miami Marathon in January so I am going to guess 75 miles.
