  • Just wondering if the 'hunger' you feel could actually be pain from reflux or some other kind of GI distress? That could create a gnawing/burning feeling very much like hunger.
  • It doesn't look right to me - unless it's a really tiny portion. 100 Cal of blue cheese & bacon would probably fit easily in the palm of your hand.
  • In my case, the culprit was shoveling too much food in to my mouth... yes, there was sugar, but also salty foods, fatty foods - all the foods! I'm now experimenting with lower sugar foods to see how/if it affects my energy levels and satiety. When I'm out for a long bike ride, though, I'll eat mostly sugary goodness :-)
  • ^^ This. I rode my bike for 9 hours over the weekend - you bet your life I'm eating a bunch of those calories back!! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to ride today
  • Do you weigh your nut butter and avocado? I almost cried when I realized how small a 'serving' of peanut butter actually was. Apparently just because I could cram 2 servings in to one spoon didn't make it one serving!
  • Just a quick math comment... if you are eating 250g protein and 100g fat each day - that's 1900 cal before you add in any carbs. Protein (250 x 4) + fat (100 x 9) =1900. Even if you're low carbing at 20-25g that's still around 2000, rather than the 1800 that you state. I think it might help you to get back to the basics of…
  • I've been eating most of my exercise calories - and have been losing slightly faster than mfp would predict. I don't log incidental 'exercise' such as going for a walk to get lunch as I figure that's built in to my activity level. Working well for me, seeing as though I really, really like to eat :-)
  • Coffee creamer isn't a 'thing' where I live... and it's rare to have it with cream. Usually it's with milk - sometimes with flavoured syrup added.
  • Time to create an exercise database entry for "shelf-climbing, supermarket, 2 tiers"?
  • So much this!! I've lost count of the times I've had to climb up the shelves at the supermarket to reach something!!
  • Thanks for the advice! I'll stick to 1750 for a few weeks and see where that takes me... then re-evaluate with those numbers
  • My thoughts... first - log it as best you can; it might not be as bad as you think. Second - it's your birthday, one day out of the year is not going to do any harm long term. For parties in general, though, plan to log as best you can and add some extra exercise for the days before/after so that, although you may be over…
  • So - how is everyone doing so far this week? One day over for me - but I have at least 3 hours of biking planned for tomorrow which should cancel that out :-)
  • I'm 5ft 2 and 136. Just started after a couple of years of eating far too much... need to lose some weight to get my bike up the hills faster!
