*disclaimer six pack comes from low body fat not ab exercises.

Adequate protien is important for retaining muscle. I would highly recommend getting on an established lifting program (one using compound lifts would be best). Also dont ever worry about "bulking" getting bulky is actually very diffcult. As a 21 year old male, eating a calorie surplus i never got bulky. I just slowly…

Keep in mind if you work on gaining muscle with a calorie surplus fat will come with it. Typically you dont want to work on muscle building until youre happy with your body fat %. You could do a recomp eat just barely under maintenance calories and take advantage newbie lifting gains. But recomps are a slow process and not…

Okay first of all lets clear up some mis conceptions... cardio doesnt "burn fat and nrither does weight lifting." Both burn calories, increasing your calorie deficit meaning your body has to find a source of energy from something else (i.e. stored fat, and muscle). Cardio does a better job burning calories, so your deficit…

I would second the recomp advice.
-
Either recomp or cut/bulk cycles. If you do a cut/bulk, if recommend doing the cut first. Typically you do t want to bulk until youre at your desired body fat %

Eat a small/moderate calorie deficit, keep running and start weight lifting. Again start weight lifting, now, no reason to wait. Slow and steady wins the race. If you keep a small/moderate calorie deficit and lift now youll retain more muscle and be much happier with how you look. Plus keeping muscle is a lot easier then…

I would probably get on a dumbbell program. Smith machines suck.
-
If you take it any other time it converts your muscle into fat.

Lmfao!!!! This is exactly why i hate beachbody and their mlm system. Get untrained people to give advice on exercise and weightlesss even if they dont know anything about what they are saying/selling.

Im 160 and mine is 205 as well (calculated tho never tested)
-
I like greek yogurt with a scoop of protien powder. 300 calories for around 50 grams of protien.

Before i understood proper calorie counting and whats healthy i ate around 1000 calories for a little over a month. (Male at the time i was around 185). Eventually i got on this site and learned i didnt need to go to such extremes. It wasnt the low calories or how i look and felt that made me stop tho, it was more so i got…

Bodybuilding.com has some really good workouts but the problem with a lot of them is they dont tell you how much weight to add each week. I would recommend stronglifts 5x5 for a new lifter, theres an app for it and i think youll see the best results. What ever you pick make sure it mostly utilizes compound lifts (bench,…

I mean creatine is great but it isnt magic, youll still need to put in work, and wont give you targeted muscle growth.
-
Perfect list! I would just add keep in mind if you start lifting, and youre weighing yourself the lifting might causes some water rention which will effect the scale, this will eventually go away though. Now is the time to start lifting! A good program a lot of people like is stronglifts 5x5.

Well im not going to give exercise advice if you have medical problems, but losing a gut just takes a calorie deficit, no exercise necessary.

Thanks lol.

Sorry maybe i should have said subforum. There are multiple categories, OP posted in the weight loss category. There are seperate categories for maintenance, weight gain, exercise, etc.
-
I used to eat quest bars which were good. Now i have kirkland, 10 seconds in the microwave make them even better. The only problem with kirkland is there are only 2 flavors. Obviously real food always tastes better but sometimes convenience wins lol.
-
OPs questions is about stalled weight loss, they are trying to lose weight. Not to mention if they are trying to gain this is the wrong forum, as this is the weight loss one.
-
Lol i love how your come back to having your character attacked is by attacking theirs, no reason to bring up how much someone posts, some people have been on here a long time and have learned a lot and want to share their knowledge. Its great youre trying to help and all but you need to realize for someone begining their…

Highly doubtful youre gaining enough muscle to off set weight loss. You answered your own question, the reason you arent losing is because you arent accurately tracking everything.
-
Ive done 3 programs and i enjoyed them. I think most of the workouts though are for more advanced lifters
-
Dont worry if you see no loss this week or even an increase water weight can fluctuate quite a bit. Be religious about calorie counting and look for overall trend. Also congrats on a good first week. Even if a lot of that was water weight some was fat. Keep it up!

Or you could use whey protien and get more protien, from a better source and way cheaper. Also do you know really helps cravings... enjoying treats in moderation.
-
Ill second the greek yogurt and protien powder. I do 227grams and a scoop of protien 310 calories, 50 grams of protien. Protien powder in general makes things easy.

Bodybuilding.com is a great resource i always recommend it too, but one thing to note if you do one of their routines make sure its a beginner full body program! I repeat make sure its a beginner program. A lot of the workouts on it are for intermediate and advanced lifters and is usually a bro split (which isnt bad but…

The problem is using containers isnt as accurate as weighing your food, also its not very practical. Its much easier just tracking everything you eat, and eating what you want. Also i dont think anyone is argueing against the videos/workouts, so if those interest you i would say go for it.

I always see coaches posting how they are restarting 21 day fix because theyve gained weight back. Why not just weigh all your food and eat what you want.
