Murderous foods... Yikes! I hope my loaf of bread doesn't kill me in my sleep

I'd encourage you to watch the video. Yes, these people have been slim all their lives, which means that a lot of the behaviors that keep their CI = CO are unconscious. But just because we don't do these things unconsciously doesn't mean we can't learn anything from it. We don't do it automatically but we can learn to do…

Because of space constraints, I don't have room in my kitchen for a pressure cooker and a slow cooker. Instead, I have an instant pot, that does both of those jobs and more. My only regret is not buying it sooner!

Exactly! Watching this vid makes me think that the advice given to a lot of obese people is to basically become fitness and nutrition buffs, when these "naturally slim" people aren't that at all. They have these small habits ingrained that add up over time.

Thank you @Nevadaden. @brittdee88 you're a legend! 185 DBF is amazing. This has me pretty stressed out today. After my two binge days this week I'm starting today, without having eaten a single bite yet, already over my weekly goal. I feel defeated. Even if I have a perfect day everything I eat will count against me. And…

Great job! You look great. Love your polka-dot swimsuit. Where did you buy it?

When my weight is on the lower end I find I don't think about it or my body half as much. I'm up 4-6 lbs from my lowest weight (and still want to lose a bit more after that) and I'm already so much more self conscious than I was. Sad.

Noticed your absence, always enjoy your updates. Welcome back!

Me: 1 Binge: 1 DBF: 1 I managed to restrict my calories yesterday to try and offset some of the damage. I was tempted to keep restricting today. The math says that if I eat 800 cal today and tomorrow then I will have basically canceled out the binge. But I decided against it. Today I will just get back on track. I might be…

Maybe you're trying to change too much too fast? Being healthier is a lifelong endeavor after all, so maybe try one change at a time. When it sticks, it's a habit! That doesn't require motivation, it's something you do automatically. Then add another, and another. Before you know it you'll be well on your way to "oh my…

Except for the divorce and the age difference, IMHO your situations are nothing alike. You met someone you liked, pursued her, tried to be a better man for her, married her. OP's guy, on the other hand, is in a relationship that is stable but really going nowhere. My take is that he likes the stability of having a…

^^This. And now that that's out of the way, you know what ACV is great for? Spritzing on air popped popcorn. Makes the salt stick on it and is a great low cal substitute for salt and vinegar chips.

I everyone, new here. I don't have a diagnosed BED but considering my behavior I do seem to tick a lot of the boxes for it. Yesterday I binged on around 6,000 cals, my biggest binge in months. I looked online for some support groups but unfortunately most of them are proana, how sad is that? Anyways, I thought maybe MFP…

* Hugs! * Give it time though, your body is a work in progress. And do some strength training if you can. I lost 50 lbs in a year, then pretty much no weight at all the next year or so, but I've been lifting 5x a week and my body looks nothing like when I first lost the weight. So much more defined and "tight". My belly is…

I think you've hit the nail on the head. For that number to be meaningful it has to exist within the context of the customer knowing what his/her daily caloric needs are. For example, the magnitude of a 1,500 calorie entree doesn't mean anything until you realize you maintain at 1,800 ;-)

Because we all know that, actually....https://www.theonion.com/new-study-finds-it-is-impossible-to-lose-weight-no-one-1819575105

Plus, silly non fat fingers now are terrible for catching crumbs when I'm wiping the table.

Hmm yum that sounds good! I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Lots of great advice on here already. Just another thing to add: Are you tracking your body circumference measurements as well as your scale weight? Over time you might see some changes on there even if your actual weight stays the same.

There's been nothing but silence from that poster for a bit... Could it be that your mention of a Turing bot experiment did the trick?

Guys, as if right on cue with this thread, my dentist lectured me about dairy today. He went on and on about how we're all lactose intolerant, it's just a matter of degrees, and we shouldn't be consuming another animal's milk anyways, and its bacteria doesn't mesh with our system, evolutionarily speaking, etc. All that to…

Hey! 6'1'' here. Started at 231lbs and got down to 180 in about a year. Since then I've been trying to keep at a deficit to lose 10-15 lbs more, but have been losing inches instead. I do strength training 4 times a week. I am loving the way my body looks with some muscle definition on it! Much more flattering than the rail…

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear you've had a tough go of it lately. But it really sounds like you're ready for a change, which is great! Question: with alcohol being a part of the problem, impairing your ability to be a parent, your job, etc for a time, could maybe dropping your bartending job help make your positive changes…

I just looked around in my kitchen and realized I have all sorts of "junk food" at home that I eat in moderate portions and log faithfully, and most importantly, am not bingeing on. When I first started losing weight I basically had to get rid of all sweet treats and cookies that I liked because I couldn't eat them in…
