Without exercise I only burn about 1550 calories. MFP has me at the 1200 calorie level, which is not enough of a deficit for me to lose 1 lb/week. I have to walk 2 miles per day yo just reach a 500 calorie deficit! I never eat my exercise calories because I wouldn't lose any weight if I did.

I do much better on my walks if I eat lunch before I go. I feel a lot more energetic when I have eaten first.

I have to exercise to have enough of a deficit to lose weight. I'm at the minimum calorie limit (1200). If I don't exercise, I only burn about 1500 calories/day. So I briskly walk 2 miles 6 days per week. That gives me another 240 calories/day burned.

Legumes, whole grains, corn, peas, and root vegetables are the highest in fiber. Moderate fiber foods include green beans, tomatoes, apples, and bananas.

Now that it shows in MFP, I got 123 calories for it. So, it looks like it turns out quite close to the net calories after all.

Fitbit gave me 301 calories for a 2.30 mile brisk walk. The formula you gave me yielded 118 calories. That's a big difference!
-
Thank you! It comes out WAY less than Fitbit says.

I just got back from a 2.50 mile walk. I tracked using Fitbit today and it seems to be more generous than Walkmeter! Thanks everyone for all the advice.
-
So I should not enter a walk via Walkmeter? I should use only Fitbit for indoors and outdoors?
-
I have the Charge HR. That would be great for my indoor walking, but I love Walkmeter for outdoors. I know that Fitbit tracks outdoor routes also, but I haven't used it yet. Does Fitbit log walks on MFP?
-
Thank you! Still, it is strange that there is such a difference between indoors and outdoors. I need the cardio benefits more, that's all. I just wish that when the weather is bad and I can't walk outside, doing an indoor walking DVD session was as good as outdoors walking 2 miles, but it isn't.

I don't log my walking directly into Fitbit. Fitbit gets it from MFP because they are linked. Actually, MFP gets my walks from Walkmeter, which does all the calculations. After that, Fitbit records it automatically.
-
Walking is my only exercise right now. If I don't enter it in MFP, Fitbit doesn't show any exercise for me. Steps, yes, but nothing that shows distance and speed and calories burned. Those are important to me!

I depend on MFP to calculate calories burned during my exercises. It's funny that when I walk outside I always get 75-85% in cardio rate, but when I do indoor walking exercises for the same amount of time my heart rate doesn't ever rise enough, it's 100% fat burn. And I sweat just as much! LOL! What I enter on MFP goes to…

I hear ya! I really is helpful to have friends to encourage you. Add me! Karen

I got my Fitbit Charge HR in mid-December. I love it! I welcome friend requests from this group.

But every time Fitbit syncs, my deleted extra meals come back!

Welcome to MFP! I joined Dec 7 and I have lost 9 lbs so far. I have 40 more to go. It looks like we could inspire each other. Send me a friend request.

Thank you, Chloemoir775.

Thanks everyone!!!! I think I'll dispense with it, too.

I use Garden of Life's Raw Meal Organic Shake & Meal Replacement. It is full of veggies and fruits, but you don't taste them. I use the chocolate flavor. It also comes in vanilla.

My biggest surprise is that I actually burn over 1800 calories every day! I thought it would be much less. I never had a way to monitor this until I got MFP.
-
I am following a 1500 calorie MFP diet now and am doing well. Thanks for your encouragement!
-
Eating at the 1500 calorie level of MFP is working well for me now. I'm glad that I don't eat out often. I will probably notice the salt like you do, as I keep my level at 1500. So I am happy with my new routine, which has brought about a 3.4 lb weight loss in the past week.

Thank you so much for your tips. I have started doing all those things! I always cook my own meals. My sodium level is 1500 or a little less. I use 1% milk. I limit sugars. And I allow myself a small baked potato at dinner, when it fits into my carb limit.
