It's hard to settle on just one mistake when I've made so many! My biggest mistake was doing a ketogenic diet clinic with severely restricted calories. I got to my goal weight but looked sick (and felt sick). Of course I gained it all back ... This time around, I've had a balanced diet with a calorie goal of losing 1-2…

I never offer suggestions to my spouse and I learned the hard way that he doesn't always really want me to answer the question he asks me. He was very supportive of me losing weight, however, he's been putting on pounds as I've been losing. He's got to find his own way. I'm responsible for me and only me! One of the…

Can she get a referral for physical therapy? I have a spinal fusion. I don't do high impact like box jumps, jump rope, running, etc but can do yoga and Pilates with adjustments. PT can help her strengthen her core.

How hard it is to just say 'thank you' when someone gives you a compliment instead of putting yourself down. I've learned when people ask you to help them with losing…

I've lost 35 lbs and it took awhile for my brain to catch up. It's hard to explain but I couldn't 'see' myself in the mirror. One day, it seemed like the light had been turned on and I could see a big difference. I think part of it is gaining confidence. When someone gives me a compliment, I have had a hard time not…

I've learned to tune out all the 'helpful' comments. I think we all have to figure out our own way and its trial and error. I personally eat the same things very often because it just made it easier and faster for me to plan. I take a cooler/lunchbox with my food for a 12 hour shift.

I lost 25lbs before having mine out because it felt like I was being stabbed whenever I ate. Not s recommended diet! I was out of work for a week. I work 12 hour shifts, on my feet, moving patients. I did have increased swelling/bloating on work days for about a month. Still had some pain but it resolved over a year. The…

Overcoming negative self talk is more difficult than losing weight in my opinion!
