Meh. I run 4-6 miles a day and don't log it at all (or any other workouts for that matter). Whatever floats your boat.

I would love to ask that trainer "Soooo, if fresh vegetables, leafy greens, and lean protein have no nutritional value, where exactly DO dietary nutrients come from?" Would love to hear their answer. I have to wonder though, it sounds like it might have been a bit of lost in communication, since if I'm reading this…

Love it roasted! I put some kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, fresh garlic, red pepper and some olive oil together with the broccoli in a zip lock bag, shake it vigorously so that the broccoli gets well coated with the mix, then roast on a tray at 375 degrees for around 20 or 25 mins. Crunchy and yummy :)

Welllll, this is timely. I had Starbucks today for the first time since starting back on here, just got a plain old latte instead of my preferred sugar bomb. Even so, it consumed most of my sugar count for the day thanks to all the milk, and I ended up over in calorie count for the day too - by pretty much the exact…

I eat them, though sparingly. Steaming up a bunch now actually. I steam up a few, mash them and add curry powder (no sugar or salt) then pre-measure them into little half cup portions, which is a little less than 100 cal per serving. They freeze ok once cooked too. Fairly low GI and a great comfort food!

Ummmmm, yep, that's actually exactly what I do. And I bet I'm not alone there. I'm learning not to 'slash all the tires' so to speak, it's a work in progress. One of the reasons that this app is so popular, and this forum is so active, is because so many people have (at some point in their lives) lost their way with…

Count me in too! I'm currently 141 and change (started a couple weeks back at 148), and looking to get down to 120. For whatever reason I got the bug to get cracking before Christmas and I'm so glad I did. I'm even planning on keeping up my running schedule right through Christmas... Taking my running gear with me while we…

You can fit it in like others have said, or if you're like me, you might value the calories from food over those in alcohol. I am eating around 1400 calories a day and you can bet your bottom dollar I would choose a snack over a glass of wine on that calorie budget, so it just depends on which one is more appealing to you!

I made a chiles rellanos casserole the other night - delish! Sort of followed this recipe (I'm not a big one for following recipes to the letter, I get creative half way through): http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/chiles-rellenos-casserole-0 Instead of adding the milk/egg/flour mix I just stirred some chopped tomatoes into…

Me too! I actually just went back and updated all of my previous check-ins so that I my stats reflect where I actually started back again in the last few weeks. It was a bit confronting to see that I'm up 14 lbs from 2013! Not to worry, it will come off (again), and then the rest. Good luck to ya!

Late afternoon for me for sure. I moved my run up from going in the morning before work, to doing it at lunchtime instead and it really helps. Now, instead of getting the munchies at 3:30 (danger zone) I get the munchies at 5:30. Since it's so much closer to dinner it's not so hard to resist.

WOW - huge difference! Congratulations!

Laugh. Pretty sure the OP posted this as an interesting topic for discussion, and I just added some additional food for thought. Pardon the pun. At no point did I posit that what I was saying was infallible, nor that water-tight conclusions could be drawn from any of the research - on either side. In fact, I believe I even…

Actually, the OP brings up a great point. There is very good research (peer reviewed journal articles, research conducted by renowned universities and research groups) showing that sugar activates the same reward pathways as other known addictive substances (e.g. smoking, cocaine, etc.). Evidence of neural changes to the…

If it makes you feel any better I gorged myself on cookies last night. Logged it in (at least found a close enough approximation for my friend's home made cookies) and could only laugh at the associated >1,200 calorie 'boost' I gave myself. That's over four hours of running to work off!! Haha. I don't do it often but when…
