It really is all mindset.. you have to become almost obsessed with it. I kept trying to start & restart with the food logging and wasn’t there for a long time. I always consistently exercised, and I was fooling myself in believing that made up for a diet full of snacking. I was embarrassed of the scale. Something finally…

I weigh myself every time I go to the gym- so, 6 days a week. M-F it’s around 6am, after I consume a lot of liquids (smoothie, coffee, water). On Saturdays, it’s around 1pm. I consume those same things, but there’s a much wider gap (at least 3-4 hours) before I weigh myself. I put it into a weight-tracking app, which helps…

I’ve always consistently worked out- hard workouts every morning. When I was chubby, I felt like I had to explain myself to people-prove that I actually was fit despite the extra pounds. Now that I look the part, I feel like I can just be & don’t have to justify that exercise alone (unfortunately) won’t undo a diet full of…

I had gotten to the point where I was really uncomfortable with my body and how I looked in everything- I had given up on certain types of clothing thinking I was past the point where I could wear those things- fitted tank tops, shorts, above-knee skirts. I was just looking for loose t-shirts and midi-dresses. I could…

I’m confused- what did he do with the extra cat? It seems like he was just trying to get past a silly airline rule- how much could that cat actually weighed? Let’s say the cat is 10lbs overweight- what’s the difference between bringing the cat vs. weighing an extra 10lbs himself? There are all kinds of silly rules around…

Wow- you look amazing! Congratulations on not only changing your body, but also your mindset. It’s so hard to get away from a place where you’re not treating yourself well.

Wow- you look amazing!

I hate Thanksgiving food.. probably just going to order Indian food, which is more indulgent than what’s been in my meal plan lately, but soo good! I’m in nyc, so not much shuts down that day. I’ve convinced my family members (I’m interested in seeing) to meet up with me a few days later at a diner rather than do the…

I like mint tea- Bigelow mint medley. I don’t drink it after dinner, but I like it for after lunch or afternoon cravings. After dinner, I like to have a smaller, portion-controlled chocolatey snack. I just discovered Yasso 100-calorie frozen yogurt bars (surprised at how good the cookie dough, fudge brownie & mint chip…

I keep tracking, and I jump on the scale each morning I’m at the gym. I read through Community here for inspiration & motivation to keep going.

I was looking at apartments and taking pictures today.. captured myself in one of them and actually liked the way I looked. Before I lost the weight (20lbs), I was always really unpleasantly surprised about how big I looked in pictures

Nope, just calories. I still eat the same way I always have (which really isn’t so bad), but cut back on the amounts

My stats are similar to yours, and I do notice fluctuations. I’m down 18lbs & want to lose another 10. I weigh myself on the same scale at my gym all the time- usually at around 6am, and I eat/drink the exact same thing in the mornings every day. In the last couple weeks or so, it was- Friday- 147 Saturday- 144.6 (yay!…

Probably about 90%. For exercise, I only record intentional exercise (like I take a fitness class or run on the treadmill), so I don’t mind going over my calories by a few hundred on high-activity days. Yesterday, I was walking around for 5 hours, but didn’t have that recorded.

I’d love to be friends (anyone else looking for friends, too). I have an open diary

Ice cream. I used to sit and finish a half gallon in day

I don’t get full-on migraines, but I do get headaches & nausea if I get too hungry. Trying to watch my calories, I don’t always want to have a full snack when I’m not undereating & I want to save my calories for dinner. I find that sucking on a hard candy helps me (like the Werthers ones). Of course those do have some…

I think it depends on how you feel & how your health is. I’m 5’3” and was up to 163. I’ve always done intense workouts 5x per week and my numbers at the doctors were immaculate ( perfect blood pressure, cholesterol, etc). While there didn’t appear to be a medical reason to lose weight, I just wasn’t feeling great about how…

I think at the end of it all, the only reason those other fad diet works is because it makes people think twice before they randomly eat- they don’t eat from the bread basket or take the cookie being offered at the office, for example. I firmly believe that at the end, it still amounts to CICO.

I’d recommend you try classes if you’re looking for more variety. Orangetheory is just about everywhere- it’s a combination of running, rowing, weightlifting & bodyweight movements. Your heart rate is tracked throughout, and you’re supposed to get a somewhat accurate ‘calories burned’ estimate at the end of each class.…

Usually twice during the week, while at the gym. At least one of those times, I usually see a little fluctuation up, so helpful to see that pattern (not a true gain)

Daily Harvest Blueberry Chocolate smoothie, 2 cups of coffee with hazelnut creamer, 2 Hershey’s chocolate kisses

I’d totally be diving into a carton of ice cream.. oh wow, I don’t think I can look at this thread- everything looks amazing!!

Feel free to add me! I just opened my food diary (viewable to my friends).

Add me :)

My stance is that saying nothing is often the best course. The only time I’d comment on someone’s body/size is if they had been making a lot of noise about dieting/trying to lose weight. You just don’t know someone’s circumstances (maybe they’re sick or going through a hard time) or their history with eating disorders. I…

1 piece of Ezekiel bread toasted with 1/3 avocado mashed on top. Sprinkle on Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning. Top with 1 fried egg. Top with a little bit of kale-hemp seed pesto (find recipe online- really easy to make- or, TJ’s sells a version ready-made.

It all depends on your individual variables, of course. But, I regularly do HIIT classes at Equinox- putting in a weight of 145/Female has their app estimating I burn about 525 in a 45 minute class. I used to do Orangetheory- that takes into account your actual heart rate- most classes replicate HIIT- for a 60 minute…

Ill cheer you on! Friend me:)

Today, I am lying on my couch like a lazy lump. But, M-F I do a variety of 45-minute HIIT classes at my gym. I usually do a 1-mile treadmill run on my own before the classes unless I am running late.
