  • I’ve been using it for over 3 years now- I drink one of the smoothies every day for breakfast, before my morning workout. I love it because it’s so easy. I also think their flatbreads are good- I usually get one or two in each box. I get the box of 24 every 3 weeks. There’s a lot there- when I started, I made a point to…
  • I used to love OTF! The ones in my area (NYC) have been shut down since March with no opening in sight. I used to go to OTF in another state & it was amazing. I moved back home to NYC and only did OTF for a short period here before switching to Equinox classes. Funny thing is that the reason I switched (well before Covid)…
  • Not great, but only harmful if you use the splurge as an excuse to keep splurging and give up. If you acknowledge & log your splurge, then go right back on track, it’s fine.
  • I’ve always done my workouts in the form of indoor fitness classes with a couple miles of treadmill running before. When they shut the gyms down in March, I took up outdoor running- 5 miles every day. I would not have done that if I wasn’t forced to, but will probably continue to mix it in when things get back to normal.
  • I had an Oreo the other day. Not as good as I remembered
  • So, a bagel? Or the Everything But The Bagel season that is just the toppings that would go on an Everything bagel? If EBTB, I love that! But I believe it was one of Oprah’s favorite things a few years back
  • They taste like artificial sweetener to me
  • 10k is the minimum amount of steps recommended for any regular person to get in a day. I’d consider an active person to be a person who gets regular exercise plus is on their feet all day for their job- perhaps a waiter or a person with a construction job. If you put your settings to “active” on the app, it calculates that…
  • I have a box of those shortbread stars that I haven’t opened yet. Also have the mint stars unopened. If you have any strategies for not eating too many once opened, I’d love to hear it!
  • Do you have your app settings to “very active”? I wouldn’t say that 10,000 steps a day is very active- it’s baseline for movement you should be doing. I’d recommend changing your app settings to sedentary and then see what the calorie goals are. And as everyone else is saying, be really honest about how much you’re eating…
  • Agree! They need to stop claiming that cauliflower rice tastes just like real rice & you can’t tell the difference. You absolutely can. Id enjoy it a lot more if we’d all stop pretending.
  • Really? What stores do they sell them in? I always thought it was subscription delivery only. I think it’s worth it because I get up very early before I work out and drink them then. I add some almond milk to it & dump the whole cup into the blender & it’s little effort. It would be more expensive & a lot more work if I…
  • Great thread! I was never an outdoor runner (or outdoor exerciser) until covid forced me out of the gym & it was the only option available. I’ve been running 5 mi every day on the city streets since March. The hot summer weather was tough, but I kept going. Last week brought lots of snow & ice- that unfortunately stopped…
  • Absolutely this! Also anything with fake sweetener.. I don’t care if it’s the newest trendy thing and supposedly better than all the others. If you want something sweet, you just need to factor in the calories. Maybe you use something considered to be less harmful like maple syrup or honey. Anything that mysteriously…
  • I used to live somewhere else- TJ’s was my “easy” go-to grocery store. It was where I stopped when I wanted to grab a few things on my way home. Never a line and not too crowded. I’d usually get out of there with just some bagged salads and almond milk. Now I’m back home in NYC. A trip to TJ’s is an absolute production.…
  • I’m a vegetarian, and I’d often get stuck with bad food at conferences or events. The vegetarian dish is almost always some bland pasta dish with few vegetables. High calorie, not good and not worth it. But being at a work event and needing to blend in, I’d have to at least take a few bites and pretend to be eating it or…
  • Artificial sweeteners- and I include stevia and whatever trendy “natural” sugar substitute comes back. And mayo/sour cream/ranch dressing-YUCK!
  • Yes, please add me. 39/F, 5’3”, starting weight was 163 in July 2019. I got down to 133 by March 2020. Covid hit and I didn’t weigh myself again until September 2020 and I’m now at 141. I’m looking to get back down to 130ish
  • I love eating cereal as a snack or for dinner! I use unsweetened almond milk- that’s usually 30 calories per cup. It’s not the most well-rounded or nutritious meal, but great on days I overdid it at lunch and want a low calorie dinner.
  • Another vote for Halo Top! Really, anything with artificial sweeteners is just bad
  • Chipwich, which is for sure the highest calorie in the bunch
  • I live in nyc (the epicenter of it all). We are mandated to wear masks if we are unable to social distance- in the grocery store, crowded sidewalk, etc. people miss that last part- we do not have to wear the mask simply because we are outside. I run outside without a mask. I spend about 90% of my run in the street running…
  • Add me- I’m always looking for new friends!
  • He sounds like a jerk. It sounds like you have 2 goals- 1- to get strong and fit, and 2- to lose weight. I’d highly suggest you start with #1. Try CrossFit like you’re thinking, or I’d also suggest Orangetheory for a workout surrounded by supportive people & that you should be able to work in with your schedule. You will…
  • It doesn’t sound like you’re over exercising, but that’s an awful lot of time to dedicate each day. If you have the time, and you’re enjoying it vs. feeling bored/obligated to spend that much time, it doesn’t seem it’s too much.
  • 100% at the gym. I like to take group fitness classes that start at a certain time (morning) and I get there about 20 minutes early to save my spot and get a couple miles of treadmill running in before the 45 minute classes. I’ve tried working out at home- I even made a room in my house for it with equipment at one point.…
  • If your diet makes you smell bad, that’s your body’s way of telling you it’s not good for you (google it). I roll my eyes every time someone (usually looking for a shortcut) mentions trying keto. To lose weight, calories in & calories out is very simply it.
  • I’m vegetarian (26 years now) & my diary is open. Anyone should feel free to friend me- I love new connections!
  • I wouldn’t have quit a job I loved, but I have fairly recently quit a job that was contributing to my not losing weight. This job made me completely miserable and stressed. I hated it so much, felt like I had a total lack of control at work. I had a very difficult time finding the right next job so I could leave. I…
  • I find it interesting that people are disagreeing with a person who has successfully lost the weight & has maintained it for 4 years. Common sense for the long-term- your diet shouldn’t feel like torture and make you sick. Is it really sustainable to keep major food groups out of your diet forever, or does it make more…
