What "trendy" foods do you have no interest in trying?

I apparently missed this trend (I'd like to try most of them, however, although the bacon-themed first one is underwhelming): https://www.foodandwine.com/travel/savory-cupcakes?0

Absolutely this!
Also anything with fake sweetener.. I don’t care if it’s the newest trendy thing and supposedly better than all the others. If you want something sweet, you just need to factor in the calories. Maybe you use something considered to be less harmful like maple syrup or honey. Anything that mysteriously tastes sweet but has 0 calories can’t be good for you.

I have tried, and just can't do it... zucchini noodles and spaghetti squash4

For me, these fall in the category of "anything tastes good if you put enough cheese on it." 😂😂4 -

I like them both and both have their uses. But I am not going to somehow lie to myself that these are supposed to resemble pasta in any way what so ever.
Yeah, this is same as me. I don't think they taste like pasta, but I like both of them -- after all, I like zucchini in other forms, and I like winter squash in general. I also think they make a nice vehicle for tasty sauces, as does pasta. The specific sauce I made varies based on what I am putting it on.3 -

basically! I do like spagehtti squash with a ton of parm1 -
I'm not really in to those functional beverages and sparkling waters with adaptogens and herbs and stuff4

I don't mind stretching pasta by replacing a quarter of spaghetti with spiralized courgette. As long as have at least two thirds of the chewy texture of real pasta, I don't mind swapping some of it.2

All of them basically
I eat very regular, plain foods almost all the time as I find them easier to count/control and also I don't really feel I need any kind of fancy or trendy or fashionable food. It also seems easier to me as I prefer to think as less as possible about diet/weight etc. (which still means quite a lot compared to most people I think).2 -
I loooooove chai, and order it on Amazon by the pound.
Yesterday amazon suggested some chai brand that has various artistically labelled bottled chai flavors claiming to support brain health, focus, mental stability, all kinds of woo things.
Nooooooo thanks.4 -

I attempted the whipped coffee. Can confirm, maximum effort for underwhelming coffee that eventually ends up just being iced coffee with too much milk in it.
I like zoodles and spaghetti squash, but yes, if you make them expecting them to be anything like real pasta, you will be disappointed.
I don't "get" bulletproof coffee. I've never tried it, maybe it's amazing, I don't know. But it's hard to get past the idea of "coffee with butter in it." There's a quasi-vegan coffee shop near my house that has it on the menu alongside all of their woo-smoothies full of turmeric and unicorn pee or whatever, I don't know. If it wasn't literally twelve dollars I'd try it just to see what it's like, but that's too much for "coffee with butter in it."1 -

Really? What stores do they sell them in? I always thought it was subscription delivery only.
I think it’s worth it because I get up very early before I work out and drink them then. I add some almond milk to it & dump the whole cup into the blender & it’s little effort. It would be more expensive & a lot more work if I bought all those fresh ingredients myself & chopped it up just right. I always made a big mess and never the right amount When I’ve made my own smoothies in the past. I understand how it may not be worth it to there, though.1 -

Agree! They need to stop claiming that cauliflower rice tastes just like real rice & you can’t tell the difference. You absolutely can. Id enjoy it a lot more if we’d all stop pretending.

They’re all yours. In all seriousness. I was OK with them til I started taking turmeric supplements and now I can’t bear the smell or sight of them, but they’re too expensive to throw out. Most haven’t even been opened. Food guilt. It would make an excellent thread.

I would like to disagree this, not on the basis of the post, but the gift. Yuck.

Vegan lentil “meatloaf” lol2

A pizzeria in my neighbourhood has appeared that does charcoal crusts. We will be trying that as hubby complains about gas and bloating after pizza and the charcoal is meant to help with that. I also like reports that the crusts taste smokey.2

A trendy food I do recommend is Xiao Long Bao. I started noticing it on dim sum menu's in London maybe two years ago. A minced pork dumpling that squirts out hot broth when you bite into it. They'e even got frozen ready made ones nowadays in the asian supermarket to steam carefully at home.
