I had no problem health-wise losing at an average of 2lb a week since January, only had 35lbs to lose. Had to stick to calories military style though! and tried hard to keep my vitamins and iron up with good food choices though which may have helped me stay healthy. I will be honest, I didn't plan to lose that fast it just…

This is good advice

I discovered after a few years that birth control with hormones in did not suit me after trying them all weight gain, depression, making me into a short tempered evil witch! So eventually I had a iud that contains no hormones fitted and have zero problems since. If you suspect the same don't drag it out, get it changed…

I would be on the elliptical 24-7 if I did it that way! Easier to plan stuff like wine or pizza or Oreos into the overall weeks allowance and make sure it nets to 1200 over the week. I'm on 1200 so familiar with the challenge!

I was actually going to say you could write a book on this as you seem to have a gift for explaining the muddled mind of a person losing weight/battling with eating/food....etc.

Thanks for this, you look wonderful, really motivating to get back on the water. I'm going to start right now!

Wonderful story, well done both! Article was in true Sun stylee but what a unique tale to tell in years to come!

You must feel so good hitting your goal! Congrats!

What an inspirational post and written with such eloquence and insight. I vote this to be stickied to the board!

Weight gains over the years were generally to do with a lack of interest in cooking (resulting in poor food choices, easy options), comfortable relationships (lots of takeaways and dining out) Not knowing actually how many calories my body needed, so avoiding the calorie subject completely because it was all witchcraft and…

I'm quite similar to you 5ft6 female SW &new year 174 GW 136 CW 139 Only thing I didn't do like you is the gym. I was set 1200 and generally ate between that and 1360 (never less than 1200) ate at least half exercise cals back on top and was losing 2lb a week on average, it has slowed down since I hit 145 to 1lb a week,…

Makes sense, perhaps it's more about %of body weight lost than comparing lbs. I'm v.close to goal and 20% of bodyweight lost and everyone even acquaintances notice as the change is pretty dramatic. I started getting comments about my 'new hair style??!' at about 9% lost (about 14lbs) and then comments about actual weight…

I think they meant just started as 'just started insanity/exercise'

Hi, U.K. too, I will try and send a request but never seems to work! Add me if it doesn't! What are you aiming to lose?

So glad you started this post! I've been feeling this too, at just 3lbs off goal which is supposed to be the ideal weight for my height and frame. But! most of the time I look in the mirror and see my former body. Everyone is going on about how skinny I am now, occasionally I see that it but mostly I don't. Guess it just…

I live in a little village in England and on one run around the country lanes there was a tall 60-70 year old gentleman roller skating in circles

I'm going to hit my goal weight the week before I fly out from UK to Orlando and Disney (3 weeks) That will be a massive challenge starting maintenance on holiday but if I have to lose a few when I get back that's fine too! Planning on buying a new wardrobe out there which is keeping me very motivated to get these last…

OP having read all the replies I think the key question is, do YOU want to lose weight my dear? I am guessing you do as you are on this forum? Put your dad and his views aside, what do YOU want? If YOU want to lose weight you are in the right place, the support here is amazing, but you are in control of yourself and if you…

Goal 1. Healthy BMI = done - now at 141lbs 5ft6 from 174 at New Year. Goal 2. 139lbs = 2lbs to go Goal 3. 136lbs = changed this goal-- now I think appearance is most important to me and will get there by strength training using bodyweight (at home no gym) I changed this as I am struggling now with my deficeit at 1200 cals…

Joes juicing is how I discovered MFP, I tried juicing between xmas and new year and lasted only 24 hours. It was simply awful, I felt awful and buying the huge quantities of stuff needed to make all the different juices was going to be difficult. So I thought there MUST be a better way! There is....! Started MFP on 27th…

That moment you go to pull down your shirt to hide your rolls and muffin top and remember there are no rolls or muffin top!

^^this! In hindsight a couple of times I've stood up for myself to strangers recently- I'm worried my normal quiet self is becoming a bit diva like!

I did just deficeit until I'd lost 75% towards my goal weight and realised I was getting skinny fat so increased my steps a day efforts and started simple bodyweight strength exercises at home to improve the saggy bits. Still early days but definitely helping the saggy bits. Plus I rough massage the fatty bits, scrub with…

I was so clueless before discovering MFP, it was only by chance I downloaded it and logged my 'normal' days eating that shocked me, it quickly (24hours) made sense. I stuck to the calorie limit for the week (rather than a day) and lost weight every week. I feel lucky I found MFP and learned about CI/CO and realised how…
