This time I'm a non smoker, have made real muscle strength gains by strength training for a while (so won't be skinny fat at goal like I was last year) plus this time there's only 16lbs to lose instead of 40lbs Next time I will continue to log log log!!

I just think you'll spoil your holiday stressing about your weight like this. You've clearly got the tools/knowledge to manage it, go enjoy the holiday and lovely French food and simply employ the tools again when you get back!

A year ago when I began the journey he was openly skeptical as he'd seen me start stuff and give up so many times. His attitude was pretty stinky to be honest at the start and it actually added fuel to my determination to do it. Gradually he became more and more supportive and then my main cheerleader! I hit goal in the…

Great advice above ^^ Perhaps just try to reduce the time between when you start to lose your weight loss mojo and take action sooner when the weight creeps on quicker than you'd like. Also are you restricting yourself too much causing cravings? Or Can you find a balance over a while week to offset higher cal days? As long…

Hi! Mine is UK 16 to 6/8 5ft6 lost 36lbs that I'd carried around for many years. Lost it in 6 months and 10inches off the waist by calorie counting and increasing activity, I hit my goal weight a month ago and feel wonderful!

I read your post in the way you intended and it was very helpful to me especially having just hit my goal after taking weeks to get that last 1lb off. You can really see all the hard work has paid off as you look great and inspires me to really keep up with my own strength training rather than aiming to lose any more on my…

And no fun! If I took it as a rough guide it was pretty accurate for me during weightloss phase and helped me not panic about piling on the pounds when I went to maintenance-ish on a weeks holiday/vacation

709.4+my 37 (hit my goal yesterday!) = 746.4

Love this programme! I was that person who was convinced I had a reasonable diet as I wasn't putting on weight just maintaining my overweight! I used to think I could have a lovely gooey cheese pasty for breakfast and then a big egg mayo baguette for lunch and then eat a 'healthy' jacket potato for dinner (oh and no snacks…

What a great way to celebrate your birthday! Very inspirational and happy birthday!

You are doing so well! If you are having a bad week perhaps you could adjust to maintenance calories for a week but just keep logging whatever you do, even the days that you go over and you'll get your mojo back. The alternative is just stop and undo you're hard work. Just think if you carry on.. in another 10 weeks you…

Drink a load of water and Eat a banana or other fruit before you go so you are not super hungry when you hit the lunch buffet.

When I lost weight about 5 years ago it was because I lost it through running (which incidentally I hated every second!) so when I stopped the weight came back. It wasn't until I learned about calories through MFP logging that I now have the tools to manage my weight. Now I exercise through extra activity and strength…
This^^^. I don't have the 1 and 2 week projections, but I do enter the 5 week projection MFP gives me when I complete a diary entry to compare accuracy.
What's your finding on the MFP 5 week accuracy? I never recorded it but it generally seemed quite accurate for me during the weight loss phase (on normal…

Thanks for the updates you are doing so well! The difference is so noticeable!

I had this so really know how you feel. What worked for me (last 5) by accident is eating around maintenance on holiday for a week and then resetting my goal to lose half pound a week when I got back. Strangely I've been losing a pound a week (crazy bodies!) down to last 0.7lb was also good practice for when you get to…

After your vacation don't panic if the scales jump up it can take quite a few days for bloat to leave the body from the salt in restaurant food. I came back 5lbs heavier from a week in Orlando but it was gone within a week. It was good to learn that you can eat a bit more for a few days (around maintenance cals) and not…

I clearly remember thinking the same as you describe OP but now I've done it and got slim I can't believe how 'Quick' it was to lose and why the heck did I not do it years ago!

When I was bigger, I got so frustrated as all the available sizes of clothes were small and now I am small it's so frustrating as they quite often they still don't have my size! Also after a big meal or a couple of high sodium days you can totally see the belly bloat, that wasn't a problem before!

All join MFP and become 'friends on it', encourage each other, have a friendly competition on whose getting the most steps in. Focus on what goes in your mouth first and all activity you get in on top is just a bonus. You may find that you'll naturally want to be more active as you drop weight. I used to avoid weightloss…

Well done! What an achievement so soon after your operation as well! You must have a lot of determination and it's paid off as you look fabulous!

Wow what a difference! Great job!

Good job! Can really see a difference! Thanks for sharing

You have done so well and look fabulous!

Wow you can really see the difference! So inspiring! Well done!

Same as you, recently started bodyweight training at home, using You are you're own gym by Mark Lauren, seeing positive results! It's a bit disconcerting as it only takes about 20mins each session every other day!
-
That's great! Well done!

Got back from Orlando last week (from UK), you've had great advice already above I just wanted to add that I weighed 5lbs more when I got back a week ago but yesterday I returned to my pre-holiday weight! Just got back to normal food and logging. All the walking at the parks and shopping certainly off-set the extra…

I tried to avoid loose skin by scrubbing those areas and moisturising most days and this sounds weird but I kneeded the danger areas like dough particularly on the Tummy, I had this mad idea that it might increase the blood flow to the area and keep the skin healthy! I was 210lbs in 2013, lost 38lbs-ish over 3 years and…
