  • What an achievement good going!
  • Thanks for this! that website looks really useful too- to help learn what exercises to do and how to do them at home. Will get started straight away!
  • Thanks for the advice! I was thinking the sooner the better but a bit confused about being in a deficit and losing muscle thing.
  • (12st4=174lbs 10st10=150lbs) Lost 3 more pounds since last photo and now 9 to go to goal. So far this was just walking dogs X-country and trying to keep steps up. Going to try heavy lifting soon. Everyone has done so well and has really inspired me too :+1:
  • That's great you can really see the difference! :+1:
  • Wow you've done amazing and look fab! (From fellow Brit) :+1:
  • Hi, as a vegetarian for 27 years ( no meat or fish) since aged 13, I was fine until I went off to university weight-wise. Our family ate a very good pulse, lentil, soya and vegetable based veggie diet courtesy of my mum but unfortunately I didn't learn how to cook it myself (or was too lazy) so when I went to uni I ate…
  • ^^^agreed! & so glad to have found it too Congrats on your weight loss!
  • I prefer to think of my calories and exercise calories banked in terms of a weekly allowance rather than a daily one (but am careful never to eat less than 1200 on any day) I think of my exercise calories as a bonus and only eat some back if I have a special occasion that involves eating out.
  • Have you considered that you might be feeling so tired at that time of the month due to some sort of iron or vitamin deficiency? Might be worth checking out with a doctor? I take iron and berocca daily (but I am a vegetarian) don't know if I'm just lucky or that helps and I feel no different during that time of month than…
  • 5ft6 F Started 174 Goal weight 139 14lbs to go
  • [ ^Agreed. @pichiPurinsesu - I've had 2 C-sections. I do have a little bit of an over hang of loose skin over my scar, but I also had a BMI of 44 after my first was born. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10257157/c-section-mom-of-2-my-progress-over-the-past-couple-years-lots-of-pics/p1 This was taken last…
  • You've done so well and look Fab! Well done :)
  • I agree with an earlier message, just don't log the new scales figure until the scale matches up to your last logged weight. Your doing good don't let it get you down!
  • You only gave birth 3.5 ish months ago, I guess the body of a new mother has still hormones related to pregnancy and for breastfeeding (even if you don't feed) at this point it might be holding on to some weight. Just a non-expert theory!
  • I take Floravital tonic for my iron and berocca every day really totally sorts out lethargy issues. My protein comes from a range usually eggs, cheese, soya protein from things like quorn. I could probably do with more protein to be fair as I can't eat as much cheese now as too many cals but actually feel really good since…
  • I'd say just start simply with the calorie counting, weigh food, log it using MFP stick to the calorie goal and you'll loose. Any exercise you can do is a bonus, try not to eat it back unless special occasions. You've obviously got a little one and it is hard to get out especially in winter but as you loose you will…
  • So true, my other half and I argue over whose taking the dog out as we both WANT to do it!
  • 5ft6 5 weeks=17lb down strictly kept in 1200 or if going over due to special occasion then extra vigorous housework and extra hiking with dog 174 to 155 just entered healthy bmi range 17lbs to go to mid range healthy bmi So happy!
  • I do this, it's not the smallest bit but I wasn't too sure which bit of me was the waist to start with as it was all bulging out and wanted consistent measurements to compare the changes.
  • You can do it! Sounds like you have not had that 'Ah-ha' moment. Have you tried visualising your current self on your wedding day and then your lighter self on the day? You just need to weigh your food and log (everything!) stick to the calorie goal and you WILL get there! You really will! especially in your active job. Is…
  • I had to order a ring reducer as my engagement ring is hanging off and spinning round. Also two people this week who don't know I am losing weight commented on how my 'new hairstyle' looked really really great (hair just the same as always lol!)
  • Now I've been using MFP which I discovered on this past New Year's Eve, I realised there's no need for any special diet programme. Lost 13lb in five weeks! Only 22 to go to get to the middle of the healthy bmi range, been sat at the same place in the overweight range for 4 years (had baby 2.5 years ago) not knowing where I…
  • Vegetarian of 27 years here (since age 13) no meat no fish for ethical reasons. No way I could even trial a vegan diet, I've seen people get so sick on it but illness took longer to show than a month. I think that sort of diet is so strict that one would need the great strength of their feelings and ethics to stick to it…
  • I tried the fat sick and nearly dead five day challenge in the week between Xmas and new year, I lasted a day and a half, I hated it! It was truly awful. You need to buy like 15 cucumbers just for a weeks juicing among a ton of other stuff! Then I discovered MFP on the 29th December 2015 I really wanted to reset my eating…
  • I reported a bug to MFP where it rounds down your weight when you add an image and they are working on a fix. (E.g if you enter 11st4 add an image it changes to 11st) I reported it via the technical support contact form from the MFP app. I'd recommend you do the same as they've been really good at trying to sort it out.
  • So true, When I lost last time (only really got to top end of healthy bmi) it was my most petite and slimmest friend who kept on that I looked better with more weight on!! At that point I stupidly relaxed my habits and over time put it all back on over 2 years. Now I can see that it was perhaps that she was threatened at…
  • Great comments and tips everyone!
  • I'm starting out and two weeks feels like an age away! I've stayed the same weight (overweight by 1.5 stone) for two years, if I can break that and lose maybe 5lb in two weeks it will be frankly brilliant! Well done you! Like you I already feel MFP is going to be my turning point and knowing what I have left calorie-wise…
