My goal isn't primarily to lose weight (just a few pounds), but to habituated myself to choosing foods that will lower my congenitally high LDL cholesterol. So I log everything that has saturated fat or cholesterol in it. I'm learning a great deal and I'll continue to do this until those habits are ingrained.

lentils (I make huge vats of Indian style lentils - spicy and delicious, and freeze in pints. Chickpeas (add canned chickpeas to salads or soups, eat good hummus).

I think it's GREAT to log in advance - less stress today if you planned it yesterday. Sure, if things go awry, I change my log. I'm inspired by this thread o plan even further in advance!

I enjoyed having fish for breakfast in Japan My English dad used to eat grilled kippers. Sometimes I'll eat a canned sardine or a bit of pickled herring. Or kitcheree (lentils and rice leftovers). Lots of choices that aren't dairy, if you're bored of dairy

I love to Air pop it and dress it with olive oil and garlic salt. No saturated fat, and in my book, it counts as a "whole, intact" grain

Hi Shiela So, I am following the Beck Diet Solution program, which is a cognitive/behavioral approach. I need a partner who is highly motivated and will keep me accountable. I don't have much weight to lose - and perhaps that means we have different goals.
