@ianisha Lol...I definitely wasn't recommending an all carb diet
-
If you're referring to my comment I never said being at the low end of a healthy weight wasn't healthy....just sayin'
-
I just did a quick google and it says your at the low end of a healthy weight. I'm definitely not a expert on weights but I do know people that are lifting need extra calories to gain muscle and 2300 seems a little on the low side to me. If you are looking to gain muscle I would check out the other forums and see what…

If you have no carbs and your calories are below maintenance you will lose weight If you have no carbs and your calories are at maintenance your weight will stay the same If you have no carbs and calories are above maintenance you will gain weight If you eat all carbs and your calories are below maintenance you will lose…

Before I told you to ignore them I thought I should ask your stats and I'm glad I did I happen to be 5'9" myself and if got down to 144 lbs my family, friends and co workers might started telling me the same thing... I think they're worried that you're going to continue to lose weight to an unhealthy point. You mentioned…

How my clothes feel and measurements mean a lot more to me then the number on the scale...my weight can fluctuate quite a few pounds in a day let alone on different scales...sounds like youre doing all the right things to me
-
Ummm how tall are you and how much do you weigh....if you don't mind sharing Have you noticed as you get smaller that other people seem bigger? At one point I thought my dog was gaining weight...lol Congratulations on the weight loss.

It did pass theoretical/initial test and how do you know whether or not it's in the food supply? And it's not up to you what's relevant in this discussion

@stanmann571 The plant grows from the root...aka tuber...aka potato

There really is a lot lost in reading a typed message on the internet versus speaking face to face. @lemurcat12 the water question was hypothetical...all things being equal I would pick the least tampered with water and I think most people would also. It was just hypothetical. And earlier in the thread Robbie called people…
-
@stanmann571 there's a link in this very thread to an article about Monsanto creating at potato that when eaten by a potato bug will kill it... seems the failure to understand gmo is your failure So sorry my sarcastic remark about the shape of the earth and the use of the word hipster was historically incorrect ETA: anyone…

More people eat organic now then they did five years ago and there will be more people eating organic five years from now. Because there is money to be made there will be investment which will spur innovation. More innovative should increase yield per acre. More yield per acre will bring more product to market. More…
-
@Tacklewasher I'm sure the yield per acre is lower for organic but everything has its pros and cons. All we can do is make the best choices we can As far as gmo foods go I think most all foods have been modified in one way or another. If I have a choice between organic, conventional or a gmo that has a pesticide built into…
-
I don't know if there is a nutritional advantage to buying organic versus conventional but I buy organic. I've never followed organic or conventional farmers for a season to see the difference in their farming practices or if they're laughing all the way to the bank. I buy organic for the same reasons I recycle, think…

I've never noticed a difference in the quality or taste. Try googling glyphosate on crops and then decide if you think it's worth the extra money.

The middle aisles in the grocery store

I'm not sure if it's available where you are but here in the states we have egg whites in a carton. It's about 60-70 cents per gram of protein Others have asked...why so much protein?
-
Good question @RachelRemkes ... I never gave it a thought. I have always weighed my meat cooked but now I'll either weigh it raw or use the info from the website @medic2038 shared. Thanks

A lady that's 31years old,5'1" tall and 136 lbs needs 1722 calories to maintain their weight. Cutting back to 1200 calories and exercising seems a little drastic to me...especially at your size and just starting out. When your weight loss stalls if you're short of your goal you will either have to cut more calories or…
-
I will mention the food scale also...especially if you eat calorie dense foods like nuts. You said something about giving up cheat days. That's why I look at my calories on a weekly average so if I want higher calorie days I can work them in

It is good that they found the cancer and congratulations on quitting smoking and soft drinks...neither are easy. By your user name I'm guessing you have three children and they are living with you. When you start to lose motivation for yourself try to remember they are watching and are eating the same way you eat.
-
You said in one of your post that you have never felt so low about yourself as you do now....please try not to tie how you feel about yourself to your weight, measurements,or how your clothes feel. Congratulations on quitting smoking!!!
-
I think you are saying you currently eat all of your calories for dinner and you want to know if you lower your calories to 1250 can you spread them throughout the day, like you use to and lose weight. If that's your question as long as your in a calories deficit you will lose weight. I look at mine as a rolling week so I…

One gram of sugar regardless of where it comes from has the same number of calories but a sugar is not a sugar..you have glucose or fructose and they are metabolized differently. A carb is not a carb...you have simple carbs and complex carbs. A fat gram is not a fat gram... there are saturated/ trans/ polyunsaturated/…
-
Let me say congratulations on losing all that weight but you still have your calories set to lose weight. The calorie calculator I use says you need 2007 calories to maintain your weight You have already proven you have tremendous will power by being able to accomplish what you already have...do you think your body might…

Are you a high energy type of person? Do a lot of walking?
-
How many calories do you allow yourself? Are you working out...and if so are you eating those calories back?
-
And I am still shocked you don't have to look at sugar grams...I don't doubt you and I did leave out the word grams so excuse me for misquoting Congratulations on getting your diabetes into remission...hope you are sharing how you did that with the people that need to know
-
Here you can get egg whites in a carton but your price is much better....how does it taste?
-
I wasn't going on...people were asking me why I singled out fructose, which I have explained as plainly as I can above. I don't recall saying tracking sugar helps one limit added sugar Here's another one you can get wound up about...if you drink milk and you vomit or have excess loose stools you might want to watch out for…
