I add a couple of tablespoons of granulated, white sugar and a couple of tablespoons of granola to one cup of plain, Greek yogurt. Oh, it is so good!

My trigger was counting calories and staying at around 1200 calories a day. The minute I go over that, I start gaining weight so that's my loss and maintenance level. I'm on psychiatric medications so weight loss and maintenance is extremely difficult.

Hello! I'm a 63 years old female who lost 60 lbs. with MFP back in 2014. I regained 17 lbs. and recently lost all but two of those pounds, again by using MFP and this time by abstaining from sweets. I am now on a weight maintenance program of calorie counting and restriction, sweets abstinence, and regular exercise. I…

Hi! I am a 63 year old mother of one deceased child who died 12 years ago at the age of 30. But that's not why I'm contacting you. You see, 38 years ago, I was a mother attending college three quarter time, and working part-time. My child, at the time, was from a year and a half to six years old. (As a side note, I was…

It would seem that going from 162.8 lbs down to 158 lbs. would be a relatively easy feat but believe it or not this achievement has been very elusive for me.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Any sleep you don't get at night, make up for it with naps in the day time. Stop all soda pop, diet and regular. Quit drinking all fruit juice. Too many calories and concentrated sugar. Quit drinking smoothies. Way too high in calories, the vast majority of them. My rule is that I…

I have a sugar addiction that is downright dangerous, and I'm not talking about diabetes. I find that a consistent, regular yoga practice helps with my sugar cravings, and also helps me to maintain a healthy body image. When I quit drinking diet pop, my sugar cravings plummeted, and I somehow lost over 50 pounds when I…

A 30 minute piano practice, followed by a 30 minute yoga session, almost daily. And a habit of always taking the two flights of stairs, at a run, in the assisted living community, where I live. With this, I always feel like I get a good enough workout.

Are you drinking pop or diet pop? If you are, quit now. I drank that stuff all my life and never lost an ounce. The minute I quit drinking it, (diet pop), the weight just started melting off. I lost over 50 lbs. drinking water and no other drinks.

Do I have that right? Or am i wrong about that too?

Oh, theyre female.

You mean Tate and Holme are still fighting after all of these years?

Thank you!

Best, no B.S., article I ever read on nutrition.

I have "tons" of weight loss and maintenance ideas, tips, and secrets, that I got off of the internet, that really work, that I would like to share with everybody.

To JillyfromPhilly: Add me too. I'm real active too. And, very successful on this program too. Also very open. As a matter of fact, I'm giving an open invitation to everybody on this maintenance thread.

You sound exactly like me. I'm 56 years old now and I followed your exact same pattern. I weighed 124lbs in my 20's, 154 lbs in my 30's, 186 lbs in my 40's, and by the time I was 50 years old, I weighed 200 lbs. I lost 51 lbs around the time I was, I don't remember how old. But, I am 56 years old and I weigh 149.2 lbs. now.

Playing drums burns calories too.

If you don't have the money to make all of these dishes every night, why don't you compromise and take turns? Have it the girl's way one night and the boy's way the next night? Or, are the boy's uncompromising in your family? Like they are in so many?
-
Instead of making two dinners, why don't you prepare your meals half your way and half your husband's way? That way no one misses out? Make plenty of vegetables, and then some meaty and starchy dish. You know what I mean?

So, the question is: "Should we, or should we not, continue to track our calories, weight, and body measurements our entire lives, and measure out our food portions as well, while we are maintaining our weight?" I myself am doing all of this and so far, I have been very successful in keeping my weight down to normal. I do…

Based on Lourdesong's sage advice, I've switched from counting calories, to just following my extended care facility's meal plan. Which is a lot easier to do than counting calorie's all of the time! I'm sure they don't hire registered dietician's for nothing. But, I'm not about to go crazy with the chocolate or the…

I agree wholeheartedly.

Oh, and another thing, I MUST count all of my calories at all times and stay within a certain limit. Even when I'm down to a normal weight. That's the only way I can KEEP the weight off.

I have lost 50 and more lbs eating exactly what I like all of the time. The only thing I don't allow myself is unlimited candy bars and cookies all the time anymore. Other than that, I eat what I want. Another thing, no more diet pop. That is completely off limits.
