  • My daughter is only six months old, so too young for a talk, but old enough to pick up on and respond to my moods. Chantix sounds like it might really help. I will have to talk to my doctor about that one!
  • If you're not sure whether it's soreness or pain, try taking a hot bath and massaging the affected areas afterward. If this does the trick, you were just sore and you'll be good to go. If the feeling stays the same or actually gets worse, then it's pain. In that case, you need to rest and call your doctor. It's also not a…
  • You should definitely talk to your doctor about your back issues. They might be able to refer you to a specialist who can help you get everything under control. Weight loss can help, but in some instances it's more serious. If you're looking for more cheap yoga practices (a single video can get boring after a while) I love…
  • I've tried the patch before and Stage 1 always helps, but once I hit Stage 2 I start having really bad cravings again, and end up going back to cigarettes. I've always been skeptical about the gum, because I've known people that end up just using that forever. I've heard the same thing about it not being a replacement, but…
  • My husband's best friend did this, and it worked for him, but I've seen so many articles come out lately about how vaping has its own health risks. Maybe I could use it just for a transitional period...
  • This is something that's easy for me because I live in a rural/farming community, but I've found that buying meat from a local butcher is often much cheaper than buying it from a grocery store.
  • It's possible. My dad works from home so he'd be able to watch her during the day, but she's right in that phase where she doesn't really like anybody but Mommy and Daddy, so it may or may not turn out well.
  • I've had large calves throughout my life. I've found when I've reshaped my body in the past, exercises like walking and biking would increase the size of the muscle, but when I've focused more on things like yoga or swimming that use the whole body, I didn't have that problem as much.

  • My husband gets it and we're doing this together. We just need to find a way to protect our daughter from our bad moods. When we're short with her, she gets upset, and a crying/screaming little one does NOT help!
  • I also lost about 5lbs in my first week by switching from premade processed foods to home cooked meals, but as 138shades said, that initial loss is primarily water weight. After that, it slows down considerably. Just don't be discouraged when you don't lose as much in the second week! Dropping that much weight every week…
  • Anything below 40F is too low for me to do any serious walking. I still take the dog out, of course, but I don't leave my property on foot. There's a couple reasons for this. 1) I always go for walks with my baby daughter in her stroller, and she's not sustaining the same level of activity I am, so I worry about her…
  • I put about 1/4 cup of light cream (not half&half) in my coffee every morning. That will never change. I just make sure to log it and move on with the rest of my day.
  • I cook with it all the time. I'll use it to replace butter or shortening usually. I do this mainly because I love the taste.
  • Why are you only eating 1000 calories a day?
  • No, not really. That's more than 2lbs a week, which is really not healthy. Even 2lbs a week is not a good goal unless you're very overweight.
  • There was a notice a week or two ago saying that MFP was having trouble adapting to the huge influx of new users (due to New Year's resolutions) with Fitbits. It should be sorted out soon.
  • I got my flex second-hand and I've loved it and had no problems with it. HOWEVER, I got it from my mom when she upgraded, so I know its history and that it was well cared for. It was also free, so if it breaks down from normal wear and tear, I'm not losing anything. Getting electronics from a stranger online is always a…
  • With the size of my lawn and driveway, it's definitely worth logging it as exercise. I'll be pouring sweat before I'm even 1/10th of the way done. Do I log every time I put a dish in the washer? No, but if I spend a couple hours cleaning, carrying toys and laundry baskets up and down stairs, that's absolutely going in my…
  • Have you talked to your doctor about your weight? There definitely is such a thing as "too skinny." If you're hearing it from a lot of people, you may want to get a professional opinion.
  • I'm mostly a SAHM to a 6mo. (I say mostly because I do *some* work out of the house.) First off, I HATE HATE HATE structuring my day. It always just makes me feel antsy, anxious, and frustrated. I much prefer to play it by ear. I make lists of things that need to get done, but I don't ever plan out when they're going to…
  • I'm not a fan of going to the gym either. It just takes so much more effort to get out of the house and go somewhere to work out. I do the vast majority of my workouts in my living room. I put on yoga videos (my favorite site is DoYogaWithMe.com) or I'll do calisthenics. Even just dancing around to one of my favorite…
  • I dealt with Lyme for a few years. I've been in remission for 3 years now. Continue with the Lyme diet, get input from your LLMD, and look into gentler exercise for now. Yoga is great with Lyme because it helps with the weird joint and muscle issues. You might herx a bit after, but that always told me it was helping. Feel…
  • I'm an admin for a healthy living group on FB. I squash that nonsense the second it pops up.
  • When I hit my first goal (top of my healthy range) I'm going to get certified as a yoga instructor. Then, my husband and I will start planning the next baby when I hit my ideal weight (mid to low of healthy range). Once I'm pregnant, I'll get certified as a pre & postnatal instructor.
  • I use the site DoYogaWithMe.com and I love it more than I can express. I've also started doing 1-on-1 sessions with an instructor.

  • This forum needs a like button. I laughed so hard I woke the baby.
  • That's actually not always true. Breastfeeding also increases hunger in the mom, so many women find it causes them to gain weight.
  • Ugh, I hate them so. I just got my first one in over a year (had a baby). Honestly, I would rather be pregnant.
  • My girl is about 6 months, and I need to lose 60-80lbs to be in a healthy place.
