new mums with lots to lose?

hi there, I have a 3 month old baby and over 100lbs to lose (eeekkk) and was wondering if anyone is in a similar boat that can help with advice/motivation?

    I lost 85 after my older boy, now I have a 4 month old and about 50 to lose again. Right now I am just tracking what I eat and doing some light exercise, working back up to what I was doing before. Feel free to add me.

    I have an 8 month old, I've lost 95 lbs from my PREpregnancy weight, with more to go! I started when he was 3 months old and have been exclusively breast feeding the entire time! He is my third and final baby, I had my tubes tied and figured it was 'time' to get healthy for good!!

    It is possible! You can do it!

    My youngest is five months and I have lost 25lbs in the last three months. I have 55 more to lose. I'm 5lbs from my prepregnancy weight but I was overweight before I got pregnant. Never bothered losing the weight I put on with my first who is nearly 6 years old.

    I had a baby almost 7 months ago, (June...It cant be that long ago...Wow!) And after I had the baby I tore my ACL (sleeping, of all places!!) I gained a lot throughout the pregnancy (70 lbs) -- my doctors were never concerned either. And afterwards tearing my ACL, I wasnt able to exercise how I had planned. :( I am looking to lose 150 -- since i was already over weight when I got pregnant. Id like to relose what I had already lost, and gained back, and what I gained throughout the pregnancy.

    thanks for all the replies, ive about 135lbs to lose and its such a daunting thought, I suppose I just have to take it one day at a time. Its not baby weight as I was overweight before I had him but now im a mum I want to be able to do fun things with him :-(

    Hi,
    I was in your position and I know how hard it is for you. You can take the baby for a stroll in his straller, just keep pushing yourself little at a time because you will get there. For me, first 3 weeks of doing this app was the hardest. My body wanted chocolate and sweets all the time, bit you can't give in you just have to keep pushing and you will see the results

    That's actually not always true. Breastfeeding also increases hunger in the mom, so many women find it causes them to gain weight.

    I'm on the bandwagon after boy #4 who is now 2 years old!! I lost 40 lbs after my 3rd but then I got pregnant again, gained 50 lbs, and lost some of it but not all of it. I just started a Biggest Loser Challenge with some people that live in the same town. I'm hoping that me not wanting to pay for gaining weight will help me get motivated. I joined a gym again in November with my sister. it is nice to have someone to go with you because they can be the pusher to make you go. I feel guilty if I even think about not going!! This is the 2nd week of us getting up at 5:00 am to fit our workout in. We both have kids so it's busy, busy, busy. Keep active, that is key even if it is just a stroll for 20 min. My weight has fluctuated so much over the past 11 years and now that I'm done having babies, it's time for me to quilt whining and get moving!!!!! You can do this, we ALL can!!!!

    Dear kyrenora, women who gain weight are mainly eating more than their body can burn. For example, if a person is walking every day for 30 minutes and eating 1 big pizza and a soda after exercise, he will never lose weight and might gain. Studies show that breastfeeding can help you burn 300 to 400 calories per day so u will end up losing 2 kilos per month. Breastfeeding should be exclusive of course the first 6 months. So if u follow a health eating plan and breadtfeed, you will always lose weight.

    Have you had children yourself?

    Usually by three months, if not regularly breastfeeding then a mother's milk supply will have dried up. Trying to get your supply back purely for the purposes of losing weight is just ridiculous.

    I doubt this person has children from their flippant comments, not everyone can breastfeed so to say it so casually is ridiculous! I had an awful time trying to breastfeed and was upset and felt so guilty for not being able to for weeks. I agree with ARC1603 for someone to try and get their milk supply back just to lose weight is wrong.

I don't want to do that with this one! I'm also breastfeeding. I like to wake up early and get the workout over with but lately can't seem to wake up!

    Hi there,

    Would like to join in, I lost 50 pounds over a year ago, now with baby #4 is 2 months I have those pounds plus more to lose.
    Stopped drinking pop and sweet drinks New Years Eve, have not started a serious calorie count yet, looking for motivation. I am exclusively breast feeding and hungry all the time, so that is not a weight loss plan. I walked for exercise last year, will pick that up soon too.
    Trying to clean out the goodies from the holidays and unfortunately that has meant eating it, Yikes!
    Hope to get some inspiration here!

    I just gave birth 3 weeks ago to a preemie born at 32 weeks gestation secondary to preeclampsia. I gave birth 2 months early, so didn't gain much to start..but over the years, the pounds have just creeped on. 15 lbs alone just in 2015 before I got pregnant. I just want to get as healthy as possible now for the kiddos. When I am away from the NICU and actually have time (maybe twice a week), I have been walking a couple miles and doing some squats. Diet wise I have been cutting salt, less fast food, less soda, more water, and more veggies. Just started reusing the app today.

    No I don't have children but i am a lactation specialist. I did not say that mothers should breastfeed just to lose weight!!! I said it helps but breastfeeding has soooo many benefits to the mother and the child. Every woman can breastfeed and to keep your supply, you have to keep on breastfeeding exclusively for the first 6 months and then continue till two years or more while introducing foods.

    Next time u have s child, ask a lactation consultant to help you with the positioning of your baby.

    Don't think about the whole picture. It truly goes by faster and more exciting if you just focus on one lb at a time. I am a mother of 4. Having a baby is a reason to be fit- it's to be an example for your children.
