THIS Eating more calories than your body burns will result in gaining weight. Nothing else has that effect.

I had chicken pie for dinner. Homemade, of course.

1200 is the minimum for the average woman. Not female. Female is an adjective. The average woman's height is aroubd 1.65m. Shorter women should be able to get away with ewer calories because their BMR is lower. Run the figures on MFP. Look up a 1.55m tall woman's maintenance calories. Then, subtract 500 calories from that.…

I can fit into pants for 1 to 12 year olds. It's a strange feeling because seriously? I'm still hovering around a US size 4 or 6.

No.

Walking is the one exercise that anyone can do. I love walking because it costs nothing, it is pleasant, and it is relaxing.
-
It may help you mentally to not worry, but that in and of itself doesn't help you to lose weight. You will only lose weight when you maintain a calorie deficit.
-
We don't care if you quit. You need to be committed to losing weight.
-
Who mentioned or suggested ANYTHING about doing an aggressive deficit to lose weight? Again, let me say the following: your body doesn't know how much weight you want to lose. It depends on what our current weight's maintenance calories are, and it depends on the calorie deficit we're working with.
-
Weight loss doesn't necessarily get slower once we are near our goal. Our body doesn't know how much weight we want to lose. It depends on what our current weight's maintenance calories are, and it depends on the calorie deficit we're working with.

She is a baby still. Help her to find low-key activities she'll enjoy. Hiking might work. Or yoga. Pilates. Walking.
-
You will get used to smaller amounts of food. But it can also be that your weight loss goal is far too aggressive. What are your stats? Current weight, starting weight, height, weight, goal weight? And what calorie deficit are you on?
-
Gingers. Beards. Gingers with beards. And bread.
-
We don't have a Starbucks because I live in South Africa.
-
I am 4kg away from my original goal weight. It'd be nice to weigh 60kg again.
-
Walking is the most pleasant form of exercise ;) Enjoy it!

Fat is a descriptor. Like tall or short.
-
We're about the same weight and height. Yes, I know I'm at a normal weight, but it's going to take some time for my perception of myself to play catch up to reality. A friend of mine has similar stats and I think she is slim so...
-
Yes, I trust MFP. You should eat low-cal veggies to stay full on 1200 calories a day. Make a huge salad or turn them into a soup.
-
I started off wanting a BMI of 22 at 1.63m tall, but I am now wondering if I can go lower. My BF % is 25. But I think a 22% BF would be great! I am 10kg away from a BMI of 22, but people are already telling me I should stop losing weight.
-
OP, just log into MFP every day. Weigh your food. Log it. Rinse. Repeat. The weight will fall off as soon as you're in a calorie deficit. You don't have to deprive yourself of yummy carbs. Carbs is proof that God loves us <3

I eat food. I breathe oxygen. I drink water.
-
I have only been dong this for 4 months and I have lost 12kg.
-
If only starving African children had those magical metabolic issues that made it difficult to lose weight, eh? What a wonderful world we'd live in.
-
I'll start today!

I am happy to help. I am 33 years old and I live in Cape Town. I have logged in every single day for 119 days straight. Walking is my favourite form of exercise. I also do stair running and I am giving running another shot. I also used to hike, and will probably start again in the next couple of weeks or so. I act silly…
-
I'm 33. I still have another 6 or 8kg to lose.
-
You ate more than you think you did. You need to weigh your food and ensure you're using the correct MFP food database entries.
-
I'm actually eating some right now! I <3 feta

I spend up to a third of my calories on sweets and biscuits and chips.
