You were more active when you were younger, or you ate smaller portions. Or it was a combo.

An adult's weight has got nothing to do with their age. I am skinnier at 38 than I was at 18 or 28.
-
I have sent in my subscription to this club for the 2022 intake. I am 1.2kg away from my initial goal weight. I might reassess how I feel, and lower my goal weight to 55kg, which is 4.2kg away.

I change things up depending on various factors. I am currently back on the IF-ish bandwagon.
-
Update: I weighed in at 67.7kg on 2 January. I weighed myself today, and I weigh 66kg. I have lost nearly 3kg, mostly thanks to walking up and down stairs, and eventually running up and down stairs. So I definitely think one burns even more calories than the calories MFP allocates for those activities.

You could be close to maintenance calories. 1500 would be the maintenance calories for my goal weight of 1.63 at a height of 1.63m
-
IF is just another tool to get to a caloric deficit.
-
A "plateau" is when we are eating at, or above maintenance. It's that simple. We'd consistently shrink if we were in a consistent caloric deficit.
-
You want to have a caloric DEFICIT of 1300, or do you only want to eat 1300 calories per day?
-
It is a really good workout 😄😄
-
Yeah. That does sound fair.
-
I hear ya. I am, however, constantly climbing up and down stairs for 10 to 12 minutes a pop.
-
She at at a caloric deficit 🤷
-
Why would CO be much lower? A body consists of cells that need calories/energy. A body with hypothyroidism doesn't lose limbs or organs so that body would still need a certain amount of calories to function because it still has all those cells and bodily processes to maintain.

"Using up fewer calories than an otherwise, "healthy" person" implies that someone would struggle to gain weight, @Fuzzipeg

My 22-month-old human is still breastfeeding a TON so it really depends.
-
I'm breastfeeding a toddler and she's very active so I'm constantly running around after her and picking her up etc etc etc. I'm losing weight on 2000-odd calories per day. I don't know what my maintenance calories are because I'm only logging now that I want to lose weight.

1) Bodyweight squat by June so I've got 20kg to go 2) Bodyweight bench press by the end of this year so I've got 40kg to go 3) Lift at least 4x a week 4) 2x bodyweight deadlift by June so I have 60kg to go
-
I continued SL until I was about 16 weeks pregnant then I took a looooong break and only went back when I was 36 weeks pregnant. I managed an 80kg deadlift at 40 weeks

Weight loss is just about keeping one's caloric intake lower than one's caloric intake. You've reduced your CI by going Keto.
-
Lactating/breastfeeding women, too, can lose weight by ensuring they're in a caloric deficit. Breastfeeding can be that caloric deficit. Hormones might make us want to eat ALL THE THINGS but it's up to us to make better choices. To stay within our caloric limit when we're trying to lose or maintain weight.

I'm right there with you! I have 3.2kg to go. I'm soooooo close but it feels sooooooo far.

Eeeeek! I've got to get back on track! I'm up to 64.8kg as of this morning :'( I've just been munching as if there's no tomorrow. Yip, @VeryKatie it's very possible I was posting at some random hour :D
-
I'm stalling :'(
-
Oh geez. I've lost the way. I need to get back on track. HALP.
-
I'm stuffing my face as I'm typing ;) But what works for me has always been to munch on low-cal stuff, and especially veggies. It also helps that we're having a low-cal dinner tonight -- leek and potato soup. I'm a volume eater so I do best by eating copius amounts of food.

I lost all my pregnancy weight by 10 weeks post-partum. Breastfeeding created my deficit. I'm now 6 months post-partum and I'm hovering around 2/3kg below my pre-pregnancy weight purely because I'm eating wayyyyy too much. I just want to lose another 3 or 4kg to get to 58kg so I'm starting to log my calories again.…
