Haven't seen my mom since September 2015. I've lost 40 pounds in 2016.. I see her in 35 days. I'd like to loose another 10 before I see her.. Not sure if that's realistic or not but I'm going to try!

It's so encouraging to know that you all have already been where I'm at and kept on going for more success! Yay for Low Carbs!!

Hi. I'm new to LC as well! I just started last Thursday and I'm already down 4.8 as of this morning. I'm sure most of that is water weight.. but I'll take it!!! I find it pretty easy to do. For my sugar cravings I've been having an Atkins snack bar and that really helps. Add me, I have an open diary.
-
That is so great!!! You keep on clapping for yourself!!!!
-
Well even with out the pictures I can say congrats to your success!!

Sounds like I need to learn to like pickles. Lol! Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it!

You look wonderful! You could stop and start maintaining and just be perfect! And I am right there with you! I've been stuck on the same weight +/- 5 pounds since October! It is so frustrating! Family/Friend/food functions all the time just has me maintaining and not losing. BUT we're maintaining so that's still really…

Where would you like to be in a year? Where you are now or different? I choose to push forward every day, one day at a time. I don't want to be where I was when I started. That keeps me going. One day at a time. And remember, it's a marathon not a sprint. You can do this, you have to believe in yourself.
-
That's wonderful. You should be very proud!
-
Holy smokes!!!

I don't think I understand exactly how the calorie adjustments work on Fitbit. It will say I have X amount of calories left to eat, then if I eat them the little graph thing says I'm over for the day. I don't think I understand what I'm reading yet.
-
This! Minus the getting perkier part.. cause that ain't happening for me.
-
You really have come to the right place. MFP will work for you if you work it and the people here are amazing. Remember, we are doing a marathon not a sprint. Be patient with yourself and your body. You will succeed, just take each day at a time. You've got this!!!
-
not heard of it, sorry
-
Been there! She even tried MFP but ate all her calories before lunch so she didn't stick to it, it's doesn't allow her to eat enough.. UMM.. THAT'S THE PROBLEM!!! It's really hard.. I just backed off. If she asks I suggest but other then that I don't say a word and keep doing what I'm doing. Good luck to you.. it really is…
-
You can do this!!! It takes work, but it's doable. Believe in yourself and in MFP. You got this!!
-
15 more for me and I'm done... and it has taken FOREVER!!!!!
-
Just for today I will do my best and stay positive
-
From your profile picture you look pretty to me! I'm sure people do not think that when they see you. Self image is a hard thing, I'm sorry you are struggling with this. Have you thought about taking to a doctor about this? A professional may be more helpful.

I just asked my husband to hide the scale in the house so that I don't weigh everyday. I know I'm eating under my calories and working out.. I'm obsessing over the scale. If we know we're doing right we have to trust the system and ourselves and just be patient. it will happen..right?

When I start to lose motivation I think to myself.. where would I rather be a year from now? Right back where I started 36 pounds heavier or... still trying and pushing forward? What else am I going to do with my year? Give up??
-
What she said. it's one meal. Now it's up to you to decide if that one meal is going to define the rest of your day, week or month. Your choice..

The holidays! I went to Hong Kong the week of Halloween, came home and Thanksgiving gatherings had already started. Then Christmas gatherings, then New Years gathering.. almost every single weekend for all of November and all of December. UGH! Did my best to maintain (gained 8 pounds back  ) Started fresh this…
