  • First day of Physical Therapy today, it went well and I am confident that I will be back to baseline within a couple of weeks. My diet has been adjusted to reflect my lower activity. Goal Weight: 185 Average weight for this week, May 16-22: 181.7 BMI: 23.3 Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!
  • @mkksemail Although people have gotten good results with weight loss with Prolon FMD. As I am in maintenance mode, my main reason for fasting was to promote autophagy. Fasting is the most effective way to promote autophagy, and with the Prolon FMD, by its nature, limits autophagy because of the presence of sugars and carbs…
  • @AnnPT77 Thanks for sharing that post Ann, it is helpful. I used the trial and error method to dial in my caloric needs, I also adjusted my Protein/Carb/Fat breakdowns to reflect my more low carb/higher fat diet and increased my fiber intake, as recommended by my RD. The app is not perfect, but it is familiar and…
  • I found that when you switch your goal weight from losing weight to maintaining that MyFitnessPal over adjusts the recommended caloric intake and I had to go back in and adjust the values manually as I found that I was over eating and gaining weight.
  • Totally agree Wilelm, it seems like this is a sad reality for all apps. Garmin has now gone the subscription route as well. I do subscribe to myfitnesspal premium, because of, not only the barcode capability, but also the enhanced reporting capability, and also agree that myfitnesspal's food database is one of the best out…
  • I am new on this group, I have been in maintenance mode since April 1st, and tracking since August 2024. I just finished my weekend 36 hour fast, this is my 4th weekend, and I am getting used to it. The results have been encouraging, and I feel more energized, both during and post fast. I am struggling with a rotator cuff…
  • @nossmf Not venom at all, there are just so many delicious healthy choices for dinner that, if pursuing a healthier lifestyle, pizza isn’t necessary. We love entertaining and often have great dinner parties, but just make healthier choices. That being said, when a guest, if there is an occasion where pizza was being…
  • @ChristineManzione Great message! Weight training, coupled with good nutrition is an excellent way to get into good shape, physically and metabolically. My cross country running coach in college used to always say, "You can't out run a poor diet". This really holds true. 1,000 calories/day isn't sustainable, and, for me, I…
  • Just finished my weekend 36 hour fast, this is my 4th weekend, and I am getting used to it. The results have been encouraging, and I feel more energized, both during and post fast. I am still struggling with a rotator cuff injury that has limited my exercise options. I start physiotherapy this coming week, twice a week for…

  • @mkksemail I think that the lowering of your cholesterol and blood glucose is maybe even a bigger victory than the weight, especially when it comes to CVD, with MI and stroke risk. Congrats again!
  • @simoneshofner Wow! Kudos to you for all your hard work! 👏👏👏
  • @mkksemail Wow! What great results! Staying off statins is a big win in my books. Isn't is amazing how we can chart our own destiny just by diet choice. Congratulations on such wonderful progress!
  • No crust pizza. It is a terrible food choice, regardless of nutritional goals. Just the amount of processed poisons in one slice alone will completely wreck any of your hard work with eating healthy during the week, not to mention the 300 plus empty calories per slice. If trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, with so…
  • At one point I upped my sets during HIIT strength workouts to three from two in the hope of achieving quicker results. I too experienced fatigue and soreness, and in a strength test after about 2 weeks of the routine change, I found that I actually was losing ground. I returned to my two set routine, and within another two…
  • Went for a massage tonight, it was well overdue, I think I’m going to go back next week again.
  • My celebration is next month!
  • @walkintofit Congrats on the scale going down. Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day as well.
  • Well it's the end of the week and my weight has now stayed within my goal weight of 185 for over a month now and today I was at 183.9. My morning workout was a struggle, but I got through it. I have been using lighter lower body weight all week, and plan to up the weight starting Monday. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get a slower…

  • @77tes Hang in there Tess, one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time!
  • @mkksemail Wow, it sounds like you are in good hands with your PT. I too have been plagued with intermittent plantar fasciitis and often get frustrated with the length of time it takes to properly rehab. Good luck with your rehab!
  • First day on the bike since my injury yesterday, I took a leisurely 10 mile loop on our local trails. My quad was a little stiff and sore this morning, but no pain. Second day at the gym this morning post injury, I bumped my weight up a bit, the workout went well, hope to be back to baseline by the end of next week.

  • @77tes Dark chocolate eaten in moderation is a great snack! I am still a bit tentative on making changes to my diet plan, but now that I have been able to maintain my weight over the past month, I may try to add in some comfort foods. One of the issues I’ve had in the past is to stop myself from overeating treats when they…
  • @mkksemail Ouch, looks sore, I hope heal up quickly. I went to the gym today for the first time in a week and worked my upper body, and stretching and light weights on my lower body. It went well, I'm going to slowly up the weight during the next two weeks, and hope to be back to baseline after that. As I age, I find it…
  • @mkksemail Yes, my wife is always reminding me that I'm not a kid anymore, but I don't want to act my age either, lol! It was the same with me, everybody was concerned about my superficial abrasions, but it was the muscle pulls that were the real issue. I hope you heal up soon!
  • Last Saturday, playing Kickball, of all things, I wiped out pulled muscles in both my left quad and right hamstring. I bruised up and I couldn't hardly walk for a couple of days and have been off the bike all week. I started with light stretching over the past few days, and hope to do some modest spinning this coming week…
  • @mkksemail What a coincidence, I did the same thing last Saturday playing Kickball, of all things. Scrapped and scared up, but worse, pulled a muscle in both my left quad and right hamstring. I bruised up and I couldn't hardly walk for a couple of days and have been off the bike all week. I started with light stretching…
  • @yirara @Lietchi Thanks for the feedback, like so many of these digital estimations, it all depends on how the data is aquired and the algorithms used. I will use it as a way to trend progress, but not rely on the actual numbers produced.
