Question for Garmin Connect users. I have been tracking my V02 max through the Garmin app and am running at 42 ml/kg/min. Does anyone know how accurate the Garmin app is is in regards to V02 Max? There doesn't seem to be any difference between the cycling V02 max and overall V02 max either. BTW, I have been doing HIIT on…

Yep, I agree, move on

I had a standing desk when I was working out of an office and loved it. I have thought about buying one for my home office, but just haven't pulled the trigger on it.

@mkksemail Although I had COVID in 2021, I was referring to my world prior to the COVID pandemic. When COVID hit, our department began working remotely from home, which changed my routine, and I slowly, but insidiously began to gain weight, eventually peaking at 218 lbs last September. Working out of the house, I started…

Back into my normal routine after the Easter break. While I did eat a few rather unhealthy meals with family, including two slices of strawberry/rhubarb pie with ice cream, I was able to stay within my calorie goals, and get a good workout in to help mitigate some of the damage. I had a great cycling HIIT hill training…

We are heading out to Corpus Cristi for a family Easter gathering, should be fun. I booked a hotel with a gym and hope to get a workout in while visiting, and spend a little time on the beach. Food wise it's always a challenge with so much food around, but my family is very understanding and respects my efforts, they lived…

@walkintofit Their should be goat cheese at most grocery stores, I like the grated cheese as I can sprinkle it on things and get the taste without actually using too much. The Ezekiel bread is found in the frozen bread section, it is widely available in most areas that I am aware of. If not, another healthier option is…

@walkintofit I begin my fast on Friday evening (About 7:00pm), and only consume non sugar drinks throughout the Saturday, starting with ACV in the morning. While riding my bike I mix non-flavored Creatine and an Electrolyte supplement in 750ml of water, and just the electrolyte in a second 750ml bottle. I will usually…

I completed my third weekly 36 hour fast this weekend. It has gone well, and I have been able to function normally activity wise, completed a 30 mile bike ride and worked in the yard for about 4 hours on Saturday, and did not feel any more fatigued than I normally would. I believe that I am going to make it a habit on any…

1. My goal for this month it to reach my goal weight of 185lbs (2 lbs away), to reach the 60km distance with my long bicycle rides (Gosl of reaching 100km by Fall), and bring my flexibility bioage down to 55 years. 2. The small, actionable steps I plan to take towards this goal are to maintain my cholesterol healthy diet,…

Your efforts are inspiring @Kristin09katie, it is a journey well worth taking. My own fitness journey has also been a number of up and downs. I chose to focus on the present and I am now within 2 pounds of my goal weight. I still have a way to go with my cholesterol and fitness level, but I know that if I continue to work…

@77tes I love that you incorporate meditation into your day, I need to do the same.

@77tes @takinitalloff Thanks, it has been very satisfying to see the numbers come down so much without meds.

@walkintofit @mkksemail Fortunately my health insurance provides a Registered Dietitian without cost. She has been invaluable in both creating a sustainable cholesterol friendly dietary plan, and also working with me to tweak it along the way. I also want to mention the importance of logging all food and exercise, it is…

Fantastic results with my Lipid Panel drawn yesterday, achieved through my new diet and exercise plan over the last 6 months. I was expecting it to improve incrementally, but not as quickly as it has. My liver enzymes have also improved significantly, with my Total Bilirubin down into normal territory. I am extremely happy…

Sorry for your loss, losing a loved one is difficult, the sharing of your feelings with others is certainly helpful in the recovery process, my thoughts are with you.

This past week has been really good, after getting out of sync with SXSW going on. I have lost the pound I gained during the festival, and I'm back on the bike. Four pounds to go to reach my goal weight, and feeling very strong and energetic.

Your experience is not uncommon, menopause does change things a lot, my wife has experienced the same difficulties, a consult with a Registered Dietitian may be very helpful to get you back on track.
