thanks for the information. I have seen sourdough bread. Used to eat that a long time ago. I am stalled weight wise. need to shake things up instead of hoping something will change. I have upped the exercise. moving the wood pile, rowing, walking.
Any plans for Easter? none yet for me.

We are heading out to Corpus Cristi for a family Easter gathering, should be fun. I booked a hotel with a gym and hope to get a workout in while visiting, and spend a little time on the beach. Food wise it's always a challenge with so much food around, but my family is very understanding and respects my efforts, they lived with me during the time I was vegetarian, so they get it.

Back into my normal routine after the Easter break. While I did eat a few rather unhealthy meals with family, including two slices of strawberry/rhubarb pie with ice cream, I was able to stay within my calorie goals, and get a good workout in to help mitigate some of the damage. I had a great cycling HIIT hill training yesterday and have brought my V02 max up to 41 ml/kg/min, bringing me into the top 15% for my age and gender. Today's weight training felt really good, and I am beginning to see noticeable physical changes. Although I am still not where I was pre COVID, I am making continual progress, and the improvements continue to motivate me to continue with both my nutritional and fitness goals.

I love goat cheese, never have it too often, it's an amazing treat when it appears in a salad or in a tart.
That's an amazing view walkintofit, base jumping is an interesting idea, would have jumped at the chance when I was younger, not so sure now. Just reflecting on that and whether I'm still the thrill seeker I used to be.
I struggle with fasting, although to be fair I've never managed to get past the first day or so. Some good advice here and you have shared that with me previously walkintofit.
Been a busy week or two, lovely Easter weekend with Ana, didn't do much or go far but lots of quality time. I did clear out the garage though, extra shelving and some tip runs to clear out old crap. Ive created a little workspace at the back with a bench, so I've got somewhere to work on models and try and learn patience for painting tiny parts. Something I've never been able to master.
The decking is almost done, my labouring is complete, we've been waiting for sunny days to finish the painting and so I can put the balustrade back up.

thats great Interbeing! I have been working on bring up my vo2. mine has been very poor. Walking the canyon trail grade is helping it. I didn't have to stop this time coming up. I may need to do the trail more often. With regular walking I need to pic up the pace.
Way to go Mikey, getting those chores done. Having a workspace is important. U need to post a pic of your models when u get done.
back to work today. Just not feelin it. Got an Idgaf attitude about the place. so many workers missing (illness, vacation etc) very difficult to cover so many people. Pto =prepare the others.. ha that would b interesting

Fasting is fantastic, inter! I do Prolon FMD for 5-days, you hit autophagy somewhere around D3 or D4. I loooooovvvvveeeee the D5 feeling~! And transition day breakfast on D6 is simply fabulous. My last one was in Jan. I'm due for another round. Overdue, actually … Hey, when did you have covid? Was it recent, or do you mean you don't feel the same as you did pre-pandemic? (If it was recent, hope you fully recover soon <3. I managed to evade the bug for years, but it finally caught me for the first time last fall. Not a fan of the experience :p)
Love the garage and decking project, mikey!
I've seen Ezekiel bread in Trader Joe's, walkin, almost tried it last time, but I went for a European grains and seeds bread instead, which is fabulous. You have such lovely surroundings to walk in - it must be a treat. lulz on the work comment.
I'm emerging from a couple weeks of letting my MFP notifications all pile up. I spent most of my computer time with ChatGPT tutoring me on spreadsheeting, automating my Freggie Tracker, which I love love love. I use it for the 'Unbreakable Vow' which is a 4-wk mini challenge inside the Hogwarts Challenge I participate in. Me and Freggies, we're not natural pals ;-). But when I track them, I do much better. So I want to track them. But it was getting so tedious - entering it here, compiling it there, then sorting to see if I met my UV goal, blah blah blah. I knew it could be automated, so I really wanted to get that done before the new 'term' at Hogwarts started. So excited it works~! I love that I only enter the data one time now, and it sifts and sorts, and auto-populates both my summaries, and my UV tracker table, and it also gives me lists of unique foods consumed per week across four categories - Green Freggies, Other Freggies, Nuts/Seeds/Beans/Legumes, and Fermented Foods. Fermented Foods is the newest addition to my tracker - another category of foods with which I am not natural pals ;-). But so much new info keeps coming out about your gut biome and it's importance to almost every one of your body's systems. Some articles I've read even refer to your gut biome as your second brain! Anyway, catching up on my threads and groups yesterday and today :).

@mkksemail Although I had COVID in 2021, I was referring to my world prior to the COVID pandemic. When COVID hit, our department began working remotely from home, which changed my routine, and I slowly, but insidiously began to gain weight, eventually peaking at 218 lbs last September. Working out of the house, I started snacking a lot, and because I converted my exercise room into my office, I also, fell out of my strength training routine. I had planned to go the Y, but just had such a difficult time getting to the gym consistently and fell out of habit completely after sustaining an injury. Fast forward 4 years, and I was in the poorest shape I had been in over 25 years. It was my cholesterol levels that sparked my attention, and as I could not take statins. I started working with a Registered Dietitian on my nutrition, and rejoined the Y, and started working with a personal trainer to develop a sustainable fitness plan. That was in September, I have now lost all of the weight I had gained, brought my cholesterol levels back down into the normal range, and I am progressing nicely with my fitness goals, bringing my Biome down to 46 years. It has been a crazy rollercoaster ride, and I am so glad that I have been able to get back on track and I am feeling revived, and refreshed, with great energy levels, and able to fit into all my old clothes as a bonus, lol!
BTW, I do a 14/10 hour intermittent fast daily, and a 36 hour fast on the weekends I am at home, it has, I believe, made a very positive difference in my metabolism and energy levels, and, coupled with exercise, has helped to reduce my visceral fat level down to 9 cm2 from 12.

Love hearing your story, inter, it's so inspiring! On COVID, I had a feeling you might be referring to pre-2020, but I wasn't entirely certain.
My husband has been toying with the idea of a standing desk (he's been wfh since the pandemic, too). Do you have thoughts about that?

I had a standing desk when I was working out of an office and loved it. I have thought about buying one for my home office, but just haven't pulled the trigger on it.

That's funny, he had one when he was working out of the office, but he didn't use it very often. He thought he might use it more at home, so he's been mulling it over.
