  • I find this to be true and so weird. Last year I couldn't drink because I was on pain meds and an antidepressant. After I got off of those, at a friend's home, I told her I could have wine now. She commended me on still showing up. I was like, huh? Then she clarified that it was great that I kept socializing with everyone…
  • Conversely, if you forbid it, they WILL get it somewhere else eventually and then they'll go nuts whenever they can. We had a kid down the street who clearly did NOT get treats at home. He would come over and try to clean out my pantry. If you teach them that treats are treats and not forbidden fruit, I think most kids get…
  • I self medicated, with food, my postpartum depression. Also breastfed for 2 years and it made me crazy hungry, so that didn't help. Tis why I always harumph when people say nursing will help you lose weight. (p.s. My "baby" is 17 now :D )
  • I learned that I had high blood pressure when a friend's machine had me on the verge of a stroke and she sent me straight to urgent care. Their office was much lower (but still high). It's always been my personal experience that the digital cuffs read me higher than manual.
  • I am not a big fan of C25K either. I feel like it gets you running for 30 minutes, but that's not necessarily 3 miles. I found this program that I think is great because it focuses on distance, not time. I am working on the walking still but if you're already running, it might be a good plan for you to get to that 3 mile…
  • I mean this as a compliment so I hope you take it as one, but I am looking at your profile pic and unless IT'S old or just incredibly flattering, you're not even remotely in the "older" category.
  • Maybe try different ones. I used to drink diet Coke before switching to Coke Zero. Now I don't know how I drank diet Coke, it's not good. If you can find one that's not gross to you, you'll get used to it and then come to prefer it.
  • I set my goal here to .5 lb/week which gives me 1600 calories. I know that I will end up losing faster than that tho, ideally I'd like to lose about 70 pounds. 1600 is very close to maintenance at my goal weight too which I like. (I am vertically challenged.)
  • Is RA = Real Appeal? If so, then yes that's it.
  • You won't be too skinny. I don't think they necessarily want you to stay fat, I think it's this weird well-meaning, "Oh you don't have to go THAT far!" reassurance thing. People are weird.
  • Oh gawd, I just signed up with my husband's health insurance app which I am REQUIRED to do or be charged extra, which is really irritating. Anyway, they have stuff like that. One of my "missions" is to work out for 2 minutes per day. That's not a typo - TWO. I don't do any of this stuff, you just have to sign up and turn…
  • I guess I don't understand the question. If you did a certain number before and it worked for you, why not just do that number again? Why you do need a number that "qualifies" as low carb?
  • I used to be on Wellbutrin. I never noticed a change in my appetite but supposedly it suppresses appetite in some people. So, if you're experiencing a lot of hunger it could be worth a try.
  • I am really regretting signing up for 6 months. I am about to quietly chalk it up as a loss and go back to counting calories. As long as I lose weight my husband will never know. :p (He wouldn't care really, just be annoyed about wasting money and I am right there with him.) But today, for example, I ate an Amy's vegetable…
  • MFP tells me 1200 as well if I plug in my numbers and like you, that leaves me really hungry. I decided to figure out how many calories I would need to sustain me at my goal weight and I eat those. I realize my weight will come off slower than I'd like but I am OK with that. It's a better alternative than doing nothing or…
  • There is no "me" anywhere on the app. This is frustrating. ETA: I know this is an old thread but there might be someone out like me trying to figure this out who will stumble across it as I did. The word "me" is NOT on the app. Go to your profile, under your name are three icons - friends, goals, apps. And THAT is where…
  • Hi! I just came in seeking an active group. Maybe if we start talking about it, others will join in. I am reading the book right now. I will send you a friend request!
