And I wonder why people care that I have it private. So we're even. Edited to add: thank you to all of the other people saying they'd be more likely to fudge if it was public. I'm the same way. There was a thing here for a while where people insisted you were hiding/lying if your diary wasn't open. Weird hill to die on.

If you're actually hungry and it's not a daily thing, eat something. I find a 100 calorie pack of almonds helps tide me over. If it is daily, you probably need to up your calorie goal to something more manageable.

Here's the thing. I have a friend that I used to only see around Christmas time. One year she showed up for the annual Christmas shindig and had lost all her extra weight. She looked "weird" to me just because I wasn't used to seeing her look like that. (I did NOT say so, however) But I have seen her many times since in…

I assume you're in the UK? I'm not sure what it's like over there but in the US, sizes are will nilly. You have to try stuff on until you are familiar with specific brands and how they fit you.

Are they overweight? Do they have health issues? Why do they need to swap their snacks? I'm just telling you as an "older parent" that I really wouldn't appreciate my kids swapping out my food.

It's been 7 years. Hopefully she lost those last 3 pounds and everyone is used to her now. :)

I know of bars without the nuts or wheat but they only have 2g protein as well. Maybe you could find a recipe for homemade bars?

You have seen some results. You have lost 13 pounds in 30 days. Your problem is not a lack of results, it's not seeing the forest for the trees. I understand, I do. I have been basically the same weight now for 9 days. It's not awesome but I know my weight will drop soon and start going down again and then one day it'll do…

Same. My weight was down earlier this week but then right before my monthly cycle it popped up. Today it is the same as it was a week ago. Had I not weighed every day I would think I had made no progress this week.
-
I haven't noticed any effect on my weight whatsoever. I was on it a few years ago and I am now, for just over a year. Neither time did I notice any effect on my appetite nor any significant weight change.

My weight hadn't moved since Thursday last week. Today it dropped two pounds. Patience, grasshopper.

You might get lucky and have an initial big loss but it won't last. I am a bit taller than you. I am on week 4 of my current weight loss effort and I have lost 16 pounds so far. Will I lose nine more over the next 2.5 weeks? I highly doubt it. I already see it slowing down. My weight steadily declined until last week when…

The Skinnytaste website has a lot of good recipes of "normal" food that have been lightened up in a variety of ways. I think she even has some low carb on there. I have made a lot of those recipes with no mention to my family that they were "skinny" and they have loved them all.

Did you stop abruptly or have you been gradually weaning to this point?

I've had better luck with calorie counting. The last time I tried WW was after a lot of experience calorie counting. I had a day that according to WW was DOUBLE my point allowance but when I calculated the calories, it didn't even come to 1000. That's because I hadn't eaten the "right" foods. I decided then that I was…

I'm going to suggest a book for you. It may or may not help you but I found it to be a godsend. The language in it is very old-fashioned as it was written in 1962 but it made SO much sense to me. I still take Wellbutrin but was able to get off of Ativan. Hope and Help for Your Nerves: End Anxiety Now by Claire Weekes. Of…

Tea and coffee are mostly water, they'll keep you hydrated, all fluids do (except alcohol). You don't have to drink plain water and the 8 glasses a day is a myth. As long as your urine is pale yellow, you're hydrated.

I have a stupid question. I'm supposed to follow the DASH diet but I feel like I am missing something. Is it just eating the recommended foods or is there something specific to track there?
-
I finally figured out how to make those things and I almost cried. I bet they'd be even better with bacon grease. Mmmm...

Do you live with them? You said that you're 35. Just stop discussing it with them. Don't mention your gym visits or your diet or any of it. Talk about other things.
-
Thank you! I was reading through this thread to see if anyone had mentioned that they live on a working ranch. Her kids are part of that, they're probably far more active than the typical kid.
-
Disc golf? I guess it's not super active, mostly walking and throwing, but my son is a very active young man and he loves it.

Yeah, there's beef stock in it as well. I am thinking just thicken like you suggested and maybe add just a touch of cream to cut the tomato flavor a little. I'll play with it. Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone! And I welcome more. I know I can google but I figured other folks counting calories might know the best…

I wasn't sure how they cooked them so I looked them up. "The turkeys range from about 10 to 14 pounds. They're marinated with a blend of Louisiana seasonings, slow-roasted, and then flash-fried for a crispy skin." They're pretty expensive compared to cooking it yourself, but I find it worth it. I know I am getting a good…

I decided to brine the turkey one year. Thanksgiving morning I went to get it and dropped it, brine went EVERYWHERE. I just buy a turkey from Popeye's every year now.

I think the Dukan diet is phases that you cycle through. I don't know the specifics but I know it can't be "done" in 5 days.
-
And they expect people to upgrade to premium?
-
I thought if you checked in and updated your weight that it would change your goals automatically.

Isa Chandra Moskowitz has a cookbook called Appetite for Reduction. Lots of good ideas there!

That's it?
