  • Always looking for more friends to support and be supported by! Anyone can add me...just be aware I am a Canuck and I do say "eh" a lot! ;-)
  • Always looking to add more supportive friends and to be there for you as well! Everyone can add me...just be aware I am a Canuck who says "eh" a lot!!! ;-)
  • Feel free to add me! I'm having to take it slow and steady myself due to back and hip/knee pain. One day at a time.
  • Feel free to add me. My diary is open to friends and my current daily calorie allotment is 1,410/day. I'm usually below or just around it. I try not to eat back my exercise calories. A little about me: I gained 60 with baby #1, 45 with #2 and 30 with #3 (learned as I went along...). Long story short, lost my Mom and…
  • CHIA! Swells to 10 times it's size once ingested. That'll help keep you full. I have it for breakfast (around 8am most days) and I can go until 12-2pm. Water, tea in between.
  • Looks like it should maybe be called the 21-day Kick Start instead. Think I'm gonna pass. Appreciate all the tips guys - thanks!!!
  • Do you all take your meds in the morning? I'm ok with not eating in the morning, but like my coffee within a half hour... Maybe I should literally have it at the bedside and take it as soon as I wake. It's frustrating because everything you read says for better metabolism to eat within an hour of waking up! Ugh...
  • Thanks guys. Yeah, sounds too militaristic for me...and I don't want my kids seeing all the tupperware and me going mad over portions. MFP has helped a lot with portion control so that by dinner, I know exactly what and how much to put on my plate. I don't log in front of my kids; just want them to see Mom eating better…
  • Thanks everyone. Yes, assuming it's Hashimoto's. It's taken me a year to get my synthroid dose at the right level. Just seemed to high to me (112mcg). Most of the patient's I see (I work in Labour & Delivery) are my age and a lot are hypothyroid and I've never seen anyone on my dose! Seriously. So, just wanted some tips. I…
  • Always looking for new friends to keep me motivated and to help motivate! I am 38, happily married with 3 kids, have a dog, am an RN (so "know" what I should do to be healthy) and recently diagnosed as hypothyroid (my challenge in the metabolic realm). Everyone feel free to add me too!
  • I have about 45-50 more to go. I'm an emotional eater as well, so hopefully we can help each other out on those tough days. Those are the days to login and chat!!! Everyone else, feel free to add me.
  • I'm up for both giving and receiving support! Bring it on!
in Hi all! Comment by jpoutney April 2016
  • I like the support too - no one to exercise with except when my sister isn't working which feels like never (she's a Dr.).
  • I'm here for ya! I have family support luckily, but no one to work out with, so I like holding myself accountable and logging in every day. Good place to start!
  • Thanks everyone. Wasn't asking about shakes (I tend to drink those quickly), just water-based thin drinks (literally lemon, oranges, grapefruit or lime with water). I was drinking it all day. Maybe I'll just stick with once a day and try a straw/rinse after - good suggestions!
  • I've started logging my workouts manually in a journal. Seeing progress in my physical ability has helped me when I have those scale fluctuations. I also don't eat again after dinner, just tea if I feel the need for flavour/sweets. Plus, all the other comments above!
  • New to eating gluten free. I second the cauliflower crust - and yes, wringing out the excess moisture is key! I used it as a base for a quiche though; whole family ate it up! Excited to try it next time as a pizza crust!
  • This is so interesting! When I think about it, I started eating according to the "Zero Belly Diet" recently and, without realizing it, I was fasting for 12 hours (6-6). I'm willing to try and do my morning workout before I eat (the author actually uses that as part of his 7-day cleanse). Have to admit, I've been telling my…
  • Lost my Mom and then diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Got up to 210 with emotional eating (same as my hubby which was my wake-up call as he is 6'3 and I'm 5'8). Down to 181 with a goal of 139 (remember being 140 all through highschool and before having kids so want to beat it just by 1). Three girls, a 10 month old…
  • I'm in! Lactation Consultant (with an RN degree and L&D background). My mom passed and my thyroid took a nosedive so trying to lose all the weight I put on with that (emotional eater here for sure). Wanting to make good food that the kids will eat so they will take that with them into adulthood. I have 3 girls.
  • I'd like to be added. I can't seem to figure out how to invite friends?! The FAQ section says you need to know the persons email, but when I click on you I don't see one?
  • I did MFP last summer with good results. Eye opening actually... Just getting back into it again as I've signed up for a 10km race this summer and I have a good 40-50lbs to lose before then or my hips/knees won't make it. Having a supportive partner isn't crucial but it does help. I'm sorry I don't have any jaw dropping…
  • Hang in there Shelby! Weight loss is a journey, not a destination, for it is never really over is it? Don't dwell on the last 5 months but forsee yourself at the end of the next 5 months! You can do it and we are all here for you!
  • I like Vega. The Vanilla Chai is definitely different and seems to help on days when I'm craving sweets (I add a teaspoon of cocoa powder). Not sure what country you're in, but here in Canada I can get a huge tub on Vitamart.ca for under $50 - which is pretty good. You save more if you buy more too.
