Sent you a request. Which island? HI is beautiful. My wife and I have been to Maui. Trying to get back and visit the big Island in the next year.
-
Hey now, are you saying your existing friends aren't getting it done? :-) just kidding

Anyone is welcome to add me.

So you need others that don't have others for motivation?

Weight loss is all about burning more calories than you take in. MFP should give you a good calorie goal. If you hit it then you'll lose. Calories burned exercising are added to your daily goal, but generally you'll lose faster if you don't eat all of those back.

My mother was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 53 in 2001. She immediately educated herself on the disease, began eating better and exercising regularly. Within a year her medications were so minimal they were considered below what someone with clinical diabetes would take. In fact, her doctor told her if she could…

I have the best results when I see only eat back portion of the calories I burn exercising. I burned like 450 yesterday and ate back 200 of them.

Me too. Sometimes if I'm excited I'll even weigh at different times of day. I've gotten where I can predict my morning weight based on where I am before going to bed.

Good luck. There are plenty that were in your boat and through hard work and determination changed their lives. You can do it too.

Fruit. Canteloupe, water melon, banana, etc.

My wife and I love cheese, but too much can be bad for you. It is high in sodium and saturated fat (can increase cholesterol levels). Too much of it can be bad for you!

40 year old male and knocked out 35 pounds between 12/20/15-2/20/16. I did not do it healthily though. I weigh 6 pounds more now but look so much better because a) I exercise and b) I actually eat.

Peanuts would be better than peanut butter.
-
Me too. I have some Publix brand vitamins and some centrum in the medicine cabinet. I take whichever I find first.

I like water and unsweetened tea, but hate diet drinks. When I crave something bad Minute Maid makes 15 calorie lemonade, pink lemonade, mango passion fruit, and fruit punch drinks. They're great!

Good for you. I have allergies and frequently forget to take a Claritin, so I can identify with how you feel. If it is just sinuses and you can push through go for it. If it's more then you may want to rethink that.

I found a website that helps you calculate your burn based on what you're doing, then created an exercise under cardio called "general workout" that I use. It works as long as your general workout typically consists of the same type things. I just change the duration based I how long I spend working out. One caveat, I have…

If you have a disc golf course nearby that can be fun. It combines waking trails and tossing frisbee.

Get on MFP and look at the success stories.

The devil whispered in my ear "you're not strong enough to weather the storm". I whispered back in the devil's ear "I am the storm".

That's 30 pounds per month. Nuts!
-
By chance were you already nervous before they took your blood pressure? That would give you a higher than normal BP.
-
I think you have to do daily. It doesn't mean you can't have bad days, but if you want to progress you have to see where you end up every day.

First, you gotta get the cookies, cake, ice cream, etc out of the house. It just makes it easy to fail if you open the pantry and there is a giant box of chocolates staring back at you.

That's hot, but at least it's not humid. Here, we sweat, but it doesn't evaporate. Lol.
-
Well, it's supposed to 100 here in Aiken, SC this weekend, so we won't be chilly!

This. I have a cup of coffee when I wake up, use the restroom, shower, then weigh before I get dressed. You have to follow the same routine because of fluctuations throughout the day. Now, I will weigh at other times just out of curiosity.

I like wine too. Try to plan ahead. Have a small lunch, smaller dinner, and if you can squeeze in an extra hour of running, biking, walking ahead of time do it.
