Expensive processed foods. Eat real, healthy foods in moderation and within your calorie count. You don't need to pay for a program to lose weight.

Hi everybody! I haven't been on this thread in a couple of weeks, and happy to see all the new activity. I've managed to maintain through the holidays, but now it's time to kick it back into full gear and finish what I started one year ago. Only 10 lbs to go to my goal weight!

Considering that when I meet men, they are usually staring at my chest, I'd guess that. I think that humble confidence is appealing to most people, so I'm working on that.

Sent you a request because of this statement! lol!

Welcome! I am also in the Houston area, but do not currently go to a gym. I started my fitness journey in January of this year, and have since loss 37 pounds (without a gym). So, although I am not interested in a gym, I would be happy to support you. Please feel free to add me as a friend.

Wow, lots of new activity on this thread! Exciting to have so many new friends in my age group. My "go to" exercise/workouts are varied, as I get bored doing the same thing all the time. So I power walk outdoors, or walk/run on the treadmill at home, sometimes do kickboxing, dance and hula-hoop. I don't have a gym…

Welcome Tim! I hope you find the MFP app and community as helpful as I have. Find some active users with similar goals as yourself, and it will help you stay motivated.

I use DVD's for home workouts sometimes. I have some cheesy Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies (lol!), and Tae Bo (kickboxing). I also stream off YouTube, and sometimes get DVD's from the library for variety. I mostly walk outdoors when the weather permits, but it's nice to have the dvd workouts when needed.

I put a over-easy fried egg over grits, with salt and pepper, and sometimes a little cheese. Yummy!

Awesome progress! You look great! Congrats on your lifestyle change.

I will be 48 next week, and I think it's all about being more comfortable in your own skin. In your 20's, you are still figuring out who you are, and wanting acceptance. And now, it doesn't matter. I'm older and wiser, and although I don't look the way I did at 20 on the outside, I still feel young on the inside. Age is…

The simple fact is, no one else can motivate you to choose a healthier lifestyle. You have to want to do it for yourself. Start with accurately logging your food, and create a realistic picture of what you are actually consuming. Start with small changes, and once you start seeing results, it creates motivation. Dieting is…

No to the body weight scale, but yes to the food scale. Going 10-12 days without weighing yourself will not make a difference to your progress. However, not logging properly and knowing how much you are consuming will make a difference.
