My wife is somewhat neutral on my fitness goals. She is happy I am healthier and likes my current look more than my fat physique. I am on MFP to support other where I can but mostly laughs and bullsh*t. I love working out. I don't log my food anymore, so I don't need MFP for support so much...although I have found some…

Hi all. Married of 18 years..I think. Just here for fitness.. and fun... and hookups... Delete that last one! Totally joking...Or was I? Yes, I was joking! Maybe.

You got it. 2 sets of 8. This is a deload week, so fewer sets and reps with almost normal working weights.

Enjoying all the posts here! This day and week one for me is acutally a deload week. Still hitting the gym but less volume. Here is today's Upper Body workout: https://instagram.com/p/BEEXVDytN6W/ Bench Press 225 * 3 * 4 255 * 1 * 1 275 * 1 * 1 285 * 1 * 1 BB ROWS 175*3*6 Incline DB Bench Press 70*2*8 Chin Ups BW*2*10…

Thanks for all the stories, guys. I love this. My story/what brings me to MFP/why: I was alaways active into my early 20s, so, despite ridiculous eating habits, youth and activity kept me pretty fit. Get a desk job and continue with the same eating habits and I got fat. I lost 40 lbs two different times over the years and…

Thanks for the time and effort in getting the challenge group going! My game plan is to continue what I have been doing which is... Developing better eating habits, logging, lifting weights, walking, more yoga/mobility, and to drop these last 10 lbs or so.

Nope, see my post from yesterday.

I started at about 50 lbs heavier at 42. Just turned 46. Yes, there is less margin for error the older you get, but it is still compeltely doable. Love seeing all the 40+ success stories.

I lost most of my weight in the first year before I discovered MFP and before I knew anything about training and nutrition. However, if I could do it over I would:* Begin lifting weights sooner to retain as much LBM as possible. Losing muscle is awful even if it looks good on the scale. * I would make small, incremental,…

Such a good reminder. My basic social skills are solid, but I can certainly do better with being patient. I generally adore older people...More so as I get older :)

Late response..SORRY! I am still here. 1) Yes 2) Despite it being my birthday week last week I went from 186.2 on March 1 to 182.8 as of this morning. 3) Challenges. Controlling calories on the weekends. That is a constant.

I posted this in my status but thought I would share and get input from you guys here as well. Losing weight in the short term is relatively easy. There are all kinds of crazy and extreme methods. However, as I have learned the hard way, if you don't enjoy the process and lose the weight in a manner that is sutainable, you…

DFW here. During the summer I am just all...

Solid gym session. Macros mostly on target. One day down...15 weeks, 6 days to go :)

Your activity level is usually accounted for in most methods that set your calories. I would not worry about how much you burn during exercise or trying to eat those calories back. 1. The calories burned is usually greatly overestimated 2. It is something else to track and calculate and worry about that isn't necessary.…

I posted my goal(s) in the Pics thread but will cross post here... I want to drop 16 lbs in 16 weeks while holding onto as much muscle and stregth as possible whil doing as little cardio as possible

Here is where I am starting the challenge from this morning: Age: 45 (46 on Wednesday :D ) Height: 5'10 BW: 186.8 Waist (relaxed around navel) : 32.5 I am ok with my current appearance. I have lost significant weight, kept it off a couple of years, and build some muscle. However, as you can see from the pics, I have some…

Oh and I'm in Texas :)

Thanks for setting up the group! Jeff, 45 but turn 46 this week. I lost 40+ lbs over the course of 2012-2013. I have kept it off and maintained my current weight within a few lbs since then without tracking food. However, I have a bit of stubborn fat I would like to knock off. So, back on mfp tracking food. I have a…

I don't know if it is the most annoying, but since it happend yesterday it is top of mind. A coworker friend who is really fit and that has been lifting a long time asked me about my current fitness goals. I told him I was cutting. Currently 185 trying to get to 170. He said "Gain weight!. Go for 200! Cutting is stupid!…

@ovidnine Much appreciated!

Solid insights everyone. I think this question gets overlooked in the fitness industry. Losing weight is relatively easy. Keeping it off is where 90% (+ or - depending on the study you look at) of people fail. Yo yo dieting is actually worse than just staying overweight. I lost 40+ lbs twice in years past only to gain it…

This is my favorite thread ever! All of you guys are badass! Here are some of my recent lifts... I am about to turn 46 and have been lifting with the barbell a little over 2 years. All of these lifts at BW around 185. Squat (Highish bar) 280 * 5 https://www.instagram.com/p/BAhWemzNN6X/ BP 240 * 6…
