  • Name: Nerine Age: 23 Height: 5'7" I've joined a couple more formal challenges this year - Hogwarts challenge, Fat2Fit challenge, etc - but figured it would be nice to have a year-long, easy-going challenge where I can just drop in once a week and post my progress, without having to keep track of heaps of threads and groups…

  • @craigo3154 When I originally registered I gave up my weight from earlier this December. But I weighed myself again and it turned out I gained some weight what with three Christmas dinners with various family settings.. Could my starting weight be changed to 223 lbs? And since I joined another challenge/group where the…
  • I'm a total beginner to planks, and haven't really done much exercise or working out at all for these past few months, so I'm planning on simply starting with the beginner workout as its written down. It will leave me short of even 30 minutes, but I figure actually keeping up with a challenge like this is much preferred to…

  • Trying to do the whole weight loss thing on my own didn't get me very far, so here's hoping it will work better with a group structure like this. Thanks for having me! :)
  • NerineLuna Weigh in day: Monday Starting weight: 218 lbs
  • Could use some accountability!
  • First time joining, finally got myself a Fitbit Charge 2. Trying 10,000 steps a day, and seeing how that goes. Dec 1 - ?? Dec 2 - 7,217 (Fitbit was delivered around noon) Dec 3 - 10,352 ✔ Dec 4 - 10,818 ✔ Dec 5 - 2,560 Dec 6 - 26,213 ✔ Felt kinda sick on Tuesday, so didn't do much and went to bed early. Still not feeling…
  • Send a request to join the group a day or two ago, haven't seen it turn up in my group a yet. But I guess you're just busy at the moment:) Anyway, it sounds like a very interesting way to keep me accountable and motivated once the new year comes around ^_^
  • I just got myself a new Fitbit, and since December is gonna be a month filled with good food, I figured I'd better get involved in some sort of challenge, so here I am. Goal is gonna be 10,000 steps, but I don't really know if that's a feasible goal or not, so we'll see. Either way, it's bound to push me to be active this…
  • @chezzac17 you join simply by saying you want to join :) it's just this forum thread, so simply start talking
  • Oh, this sounds like fun! Can I join late? My current weight is 86.4 kg (= 190.5 lbs), and my first goal weight is 80 kg (=176.3 lbs). Seeing as there's 15 weeks left until Christmas, that would work out to a little less than half a kilo (or about a pound) a week, which sounds doable. My university and appartment are about…
  • I'm in! I could us a little more accountability. I've been doing okay, but I know I could do a lot better. Starting weight for this challenge: 86.4 kg (= 190.5 lbs). Meaning my goal for this challenge would be 82.3 kg (= 181.5 lbs). That's pretty close to my first goal weight of 80 kg, so I'm excited to see where I'm at…
  • If you're just looking for the HR option, a Charge HR will work well enough. People often sell theirs online - either because they no longer use it, or they got a new/better model - so you can often find good prices online if you look around. Of course, if price is truly not an issue you can always go for the highest model…
  • I'd love to join! Only saw the thread now - I've been away from MFP for a while - but I have kept part of a log on my own in that time, so I still have some weights to add in. (I wasn't really losing weight this past month or so though, so..) My starting weight: 205 lbs (highest recorded weight, around the start of this…
  • Complete. Was slacking tonight, but felt like I *needed* to be able to reply to this thread about having done it, so.. thanks for the thread! (My knee was startin to twingeg slightly on those last couple of squats in that last set just now. Should be fine after sleep tonight.)
  • I'm in. I did okay last month, but not actually hitting 10k consistently. New month, new chance. 3/1 - 6.990 3/2 - 12.083 Total: 19.073 Average: 9.537
  • I managed to eat healthier in January quite well, but exercise and being more active has been a bit lacking. Hope joining some of these challenges will help. Feb 1 = 6,048 steps (53 min)
  • I am in! I just downloaded the Walk yesterday, from the same people that made Zombies! Run, so here's to walking a lot more this month! My (Samsung) phone comes with its own health app, S Health, and currently it gives a goal of 6,000 steps a day. Figured I will start with that this week, as I haven't seem to be able to…
  • Yep, I have the same 'problem'! Consulted a docter about it when it was actively troubling me in terms of doing sports and being active, at which point I was told it probably had to do with being a growing teenager. They couldn't find anything else wrong with me or my knees, so they told me to be patient and see if it…
  • I'm all for reaching for the sky and seeing what will happen, but I feel saying "I have to" is just setting yourself up for a huge chance of failure and disappointment, you know. As for trying your best and seeing what happens, go for it, and I hope you'll have a great ten weeks!
  • Hi everyone! I'm Nerine, 21, from the Netherlands. I've been in this group for a while, figured it was time to introduce myself. This is my fourth year at university, and I dislike the fact that I haven't been all that active, and my study requires me to be at university pretty much from 9 to 5. So I figured just watching…
  • Had joined the group a while back, finally took the time to add myself to the spreadsheet and input the miles for the month. (Which took some calculations, since I'm in the Netherlands and work with kilometers :P)
  • A great tip I found elsewhere if you don't like the sudden shift is try switching slowly by mixing. So for example instead of a glass of coke, go for half coke mixed with half diet, or any other kind of mix. Then slowly work your way up to 100% diet.
  • Losing 10 kg in 10 weeks means loosing one kg per week though, that's really rather high to keep up consistently. Especially seeing as you apparantly already lost 10kg (the first ones tend to come off a bit quicker). A healthy amount of weight to lose (consistently) is about 0.5 kg a week, similar to what you say you've…
