I have a deal with myself: I'm allowed to drink my exercise calories. So if I go for a run and burn 250 calories, I can have 2 glasses of wine or 1 beer, etc. It helps me consider if I really want/need that drink, and stops me from grabbing a drink the second I get home from work.

Thanks guys, you all are awesome. Time to reason reviews on Amazon!

I've just heard it's really hard, and I'm kind of a wimp. 30 day shred beginner sounds perfect though.

Rule of thumb: if it tires you out, it's worth it.

If someone tells me to get a haircut, I would be super offended. It's okay if asked for an opinion, but nobody likes unsolicited advise.

My boyfriends knows, mostly because we live together and he sees me tracking. I go out to eat A LOT so a lot of my friends have heard me say "I'm watching what I'm eating" but they don't know I religiously count calories. They always respond with "but you're already thin" and I brush it off with "and I want to stay that…

Depending on how bad your diet is, it may help to make smaller goals. If you can't start eating 100% healthy overnight (and stick with it) try cutting out one bad habit at a time. No soda, then no candy, then no red meat etc. I find it very helpful to add friends on here - I don't like to talk about counting calories with…

Personally, I'm disappointed in my Charge HR. The heartrate isn't at all accurate, nor is the step count. I was at 300 before getting out of bed this morning. That said, it does encourage me to be more active. If I could go back, I'd opt for a pedometer that goes around my ankle instead.

Yes, I'm sure.

This just made my day.

All you can do is take it one day at a time. Or one hour at a time. Whatever time frame is manageable for you. Eat protein to stay full and give yourself the occasional treat so you don't go crazy. It also helps to add friends on here, since everyone will understand your pain. :)

I give in a little to see if it's worth it. Yesterday by bf came home with Swedish Fish. I ate two, logged them, and decided they weren't worth 23 calories/fish. That's what it comes down to with most "junk."
-
That's... that's really not helpful.

Diary (lactose intolerant) Cupcakes (make my face sticky) Red Meat (is way too chewy)

Unfortunately, only you can motivate you. Just take it one day at a time and know that you are not alone in this. Personally, I like to pre-log for the day get the "If you ate like this every day, you'll weigh ___ In 5 weeks" message. It either motivates me or tells me to hit the gym if I REALLY want desert that night.…

To tell my boss to go *kitten* herself and walk out.

As accurate as it may be, I hate it when people tell me to just be patient. I'm not an idiot, I know it takes time, but if I'm asking for advise/fitness tips don't blow me off.

THIS!!! I do way better when I start eating at noon then when I force myself to eat calories I don't want.

I recently read an article (I think on MSN) that said if you lose 10 pounds it will be visable on your face, and if you lose 20 people will start to view you as "more attractive."

The chewing thing! My BF is the loudest chewer in the world, and whenever I say something I'm being overly critical. PLUS he insists on coming whereever I am to eat. He can be watching TV but will crawl into bed with me just so I can watch him eat. SO ANNOYING.
-
That's awesome! Congrats!

My bf knows I'm dieting and track calories. He doesn't really seem interested in anything beyond that, so I haven't told him any more. But hiding it just seems weird - how can I explain my sudden reluctance to go out to dinner?
-
I put it into my log before I eat it. That helps me decide if it's worth the calories. I would love a donut, but is it worth cutting out half the calories I would use on dinner? Probably not.

I'm pretty new here, so I accept anyone. What's the harm in being "collected?" If you post I try to comment, if not then nbd. Plus, it's not like facebook where you can see where I hang out and pictures of me singing karaoke. I don't care who knows that I went for a walk around the block lol

Me too!

Since you can't spot reduce fat, the only options are A) keep losing weight until you have no fat anywhere (54lbs is awesome, btw) and B) work those ab muscles so they're tighter. Crunches, leg drops, bicycles etc. Once those muscles are firm, your waist should look better. Good luck!

I feel you pain - my bf can eat whatever he wants and be slim. Who am I to say no to a pitcher of margaritas. My strategies - Eat a slice or two of pizza and then cut yourself off (though this does take some advance planning calorie wise). Order 2 pizzas, 1 for for him and a healthier version for me. Cook - if you can make…

Pick me! I'm 28 and trying to lose a couple pounds/get toned.

Awesome, thanks!

It won't effect your metabolism in any meaningful way. The 6 small meals are usually recommended because it leaves you feeling satisfied. Personally, I prefer to have 2 awesome meals then a bunch of snack that leave me wanting more. It's all about finding eating habits that work for you.
