  • If you're doing low impact as you say, you're probably fine. Rest days are most helpful when you're doing high impact, or if you're starting a new routine. If you've already 'worked into' doing low impact daily, and you aren't feeling sore, you're good to go!
  • Oh, good idea! I just disconnected it from everything. I guess having everything connected isn't always the solution haha!
  • Oh man, but if I do that, I either miss steps on my FitBit (and I enjoy competing in challenges with friends), or don't get a reliable read on my distance! I get the duplicates on my FitBit app. I just went in and deleted the MMR entries in my MFP diary and the fitbit adjustment was automatic. Before I started using MMR,…
  • I always try to take a look at the calorie listings on the menu before I order. That's the one nice thing about fast food places, they have to list the calories for everything!
  • A footlong :D
  • - To look and feel better before my vacation in February. Just a month left! - Also, I'd like to do at least 10 miles a week of walging (walk/jogging). With the way it's raining, I don't think I'll be getting out today. :s - I'd also like to quicken my pace from 14 minutes/mi to 12.
  • This thread is so great! I've been fairly small my whole life, though within the past week, I've had to switch a ring from my middle finger to my index finger. It's probably just water weight, but it's still something!
  • :D I can see why! ;)
  • One goal for today. GO. FOR. A. JOG! Or even a walk. Motivating myself after work is near impossible, so I'll be happy if I can get this one under my belt (and hopefully make a routine of it).
  • I wish! To lose 10 lbs in 5 weeks, it'll take a 1000 deficit a day! I already have such a low caloric limit, I'd only be able to eat celery for the whole 5 weeks!
  • Oh, I'm interested, I'm going to check it out! Also, I'm going to start running.... Tomorrow? I just got my running shoes today and spent a bit of time breaking them in. I've been pretty successful with staying under my calorie goal by the end of the week, but I'll take all the help I can get!
  • A few nights ago I had one of those big 23.5oz Mike's Hard Punches. After seeing how many calories were in it, I decided that was going to be my dinner (for the record, they have OVER 600 CALORIES in one can!)
  • I've been known to have "second dinner" here and there. Second breakfast sounds even better!
  • Oooh, that's one of those "avoid at all costs because I will eat ALL OF IT" foods. Or just garlic in general.
  • Minnesota born and raised, recently moved to Roseburg, Oregon. Glad to not be in MN this winter!
  • Hi Kelli, I'm Shawna! Sort of same here, I just started posting in the community recently, but I've been using MFP for a few years. Nice to meet you!
  • Ooooh sounds like something I need. Are you following a particular plan? i have a vacation coming up in just about a month!
  • August is 198 days away. Theoretically, that comes out to a deficit of 618 kcal/day. It sounds like a lot, but you can do it, I believe in you! I managed to lose 30lbs in about 6 months a few years ago without exercising. It really didn't feel like I averaged that kind of deficit, thinking back.
  • Friended! Who's next aboard the friend train?
  • OP is referring to the event "Something Wonderful" which appears to be an EDM festival. I was confused too so I had to Google it, haha
  • Hello, I'll add you both if you don't mind! Trying to lose a few pounds before a vacation in February! Only a month to go!
  • Well now I'm curious about my daily 'living' burn. I had always assumed it was something like 1600 since that's what MFP had told me to eat to maintain my weight. Putting my info in at the site posted earlier in this thread gave me a number of 1975 kcals/day.
  • OMG do I ever!!! Particularly with leftovers! Right now I have about 3 meals worth of spaghetti (bf always cooks way more than we need!), a pork chop, and an enchilada! How am I ever going to eat all that before they start getting gross? It's particularly frustrating that my boyfriend refuses to eat leftovers, and yet he…
  • Generally my rule is "veggies are free". Not that they're calorie free, but I can eat as much of them as I want. I still log them, but if I'm hungry at any time outside of regular meals, I know the veggies are likely not going to be what pushes pushes me over my limit.
  • I definitely agree. I never had problems with headaches when I would drink inconsistently. I also tended to get a headache after too much coffee (usually if I had more than a 20oz mocha).
  • ONS.... I'm straight but why not?
  • For sure! Last week I had a burger and fries for dinner and felt so bloated and just uncomfortably full. Honestly the one meal was probably close to my *entire* calorie allotment for the day. Since then I've been eating tons of veggies, and minimal meats/potatoes and I feel great! This morning, it looked like I'd lost 5…
  • My strategy is always log everything and log heavy! I'm not great with measuring so I always overestimate rather than underestimate my food intake. Also, my first week-ish of logging I eat normally. I don't really *try* to do this, but it's a good way to make yourself aware of how much you've actually been eating. It also…
  • Same here! Although, currently I think I'm closer to 130 (hard to know without a scale though! I should probably fix that...) A few years ago I was happily at 130... when I actually had some muscle! After losing my gym buddy, though, it's too hard to maintain the muscle.
