Yeah that was where I messed up. I should've stated that the post was more for folks who have tried everything in moderation but couldn't do it. Can you tell it's my second day with the app? Lol. Thanks.

One of the biggest things I've learned is I need to take a hard stance from the start if I want to be successful and then if/when I do make a mistake, I don't treat it like a big failure.

Yeah I'm definitely going for the long term approach this time. I like how you said you lost the feeling for sugar. That's kind of what I'm trying to accomplish. If I give up what i consider bad foods for long enough, that means I won't have it around or feel the urge to order it. Thanks for sharing.

But that is a killer parable.

Actually it was because my older cousin had a chubby friend they called Buddha and so they started called me Buddha Jr. It has nothing to do with philosophy. But I did use many Buddhist ideals to help get over a tragic loss.

Well it's actually Sith Master Buddha. Because only a Sith deals in absolutes. I'll stop haha.

Well I'm also not planning to be a fitness guru like you've become. Because that's impressive. I was always the fat kid growing up. So I tried countless ways to lose weight before. I tried the moderation bit for years. I just always struggled until I went this route. And one of the big reasons I "failed" was my best friend…

25 pounds back over a 5 year period after allowing myself to eat pizza, fried food, soda. And that was after dropping 90 in 14 months. So yeah I suppose it is a failure.

Thank you. I'm not the clearest communicator obviously.

Exactly man. I'm crazy. Most people can't just do things cold turkey and never touch them again. I chewed tobacco for 7 years and I haven't touched the stuff in 3 years. And I'll never touch it again. For me it's all about reprogramming my brain to not want or even really like pizza. Because like the tobacco, I know I'm…

The plan didn't fail. My will to keep following it failed. And I haven't binged. So idk what you're talking about. Lol.

I guess an underlying point for me is why do I need to eat pizza? Sure I love it. It's delicious. But my body does not need that. At all. Ha-ha. So I don't see an issue with trying to cut things out entirely. Because that's how I have to operate to be successful. People say "you're just setting yourself up to fail." I say…

I just have to do it this way. It's the same way I stopped chewing tobacco. Cold turkey and overcome the cravings. It ain't for everybody. Was just hoping to find some folks that need a similar strategy. Good luck!

Yeah I should've been more clear to start things out. This is for the folks who have tried to lose while still eating things they like such as pizza. I knew it'd pry ruffle a few feathers. Good luck to you too! At least we're all trying!

I've maintained the same weight for 4 years now. I know how to maintain while still eating the crap. This is for people like me who tried for years to "diet" and eat in moderation but always just ended up eating more and more of something like pizza because they kept it in their life. I'm not saying I'll NEVER eat pizza…

Because if I keep eating that stuff while I'm trying to lose I'll always lose more of it. I have to be cut and dry. I have to go cold turkey on things. It's just how my brain works. The reason I gained some back is because I just stopped living the healthy lifestyle that had me down 90 pounds. But I still kept most the…

I was just saying what worked for me. Snacking always just made me hungrier which just made it harder to resist eating more. I had tried to lose weight plenty of times before i got to 330. But until I got serious and cut out pizza and all that garbage, I didn't lose much. And yes juice was a terrible example. Haha

Be honest with yourself. Avoid mistakes. I've dropped 90 before. Gained back 25. Now on the path again to drop 70+. My keys: lots of water, low sugar, no fried food, no pizza, chicken and veggies.

I've lost 90 pounds before. Gained 30 back. But that's really simply because I stopped trying. The biggest key is your mind. I chose to stop watching what I ate and being active. So now I'm back on the wagon. If you need any tips just holla.
