My advice is to keep focusing on the big picture. Even if you're committed to a healthy lifestyle, it's hard. I've lost 20 pounds since I started MFP and I still look basically the same, man boobs and all. Haha. Just take it slow and keep chugging!

Keep at it! You can do it!

After I had to dump myself from my first long relationship because she was too scared to do it herself, I was 330 pounds at the time. And yeah, afterwards I wanted to prove something to not only myself, but to stick it to her as well. Revenge can be good motivation, but don't let it consume you. I got down to 245 in just…

So first off: I can't imagine trying to lose weight with four kids. This is just what I do: whenever I start to get hungry, I start to clean or do dishes or anything to take my mind off of food. Good luck!
-
Good luck! MFP has helped me a lot. Hope it finds you well.

Well, while sugar isn't my issue, pizza is, though I haven't touched it in 50 days. One thing I do whenever I get the urge for pizza is plug it into MFP and just think about all those calroies/fat and how my body will try to use that. It almost makes me sick looking at those numbers, and makes it a lot easier to gobble up…

Mindfulness has set me free. I had never counted calories in my life and just ate without thinking what was going into my body. I love pizza. So much. But then I looked up the calroies/fat content of a large pizza and I wanted to throw up, because mowing a whole pizza down by myself wasn't an issue. Haven't touched the…

I've been the fat guy since third grade. I always countered with humor and smiles. One of my favorite lines I always used "Well, I can always lose weight. You can't lose being a *kitten*."
-
The tortoise was right! I've dropped 21 pounds since the start of January, but I've been through this once before when I lost 90 pounds. I know it's gonna start really leveling off. I'm all about honesty, mindfulness, discipline and positivity.

I have a wonderful woman and family. And though I'm just 26, I'd really like to be around awhile and not have things cut short. Also, everyone who I've told about me giving up pizza says "oh well, you can't COMPLETELY give it up, especially if you love it." But here I am 50 days later and I haven't touched a slice. I'm…

Yeah I mean I wish I could do the moderation thing with success but it just never worked for me. So I gotta go cold turkey. Plus cold turkey is delicious ha-ha Thanks for the suggestion!

Is it me you're looking for? Just sang Lionel Richie to myself after seeing the subject of your post. And lamely had to tell you about it.

I was up to 330 at one point. Dropped to 245 in 14 months, then slowly crept up to 270 over the past four years. Just got back on the wagon myself though. Drink a glass of water and eat some fruit or veggies or nuts. Big keys for me are never buying the junk in the first place, planning out exactly what you're going to eat…

UNNECESSARY CALORIES AAAHHHHH
-
That's some good knowledge. I'm probably guilty of that myself to a certain extent. I tend to be way more drastic with my diets than most. But it's based on experience with results. Everyone is so different it's been really interesting seeing how other folks go about losing weight.

Late to the game. But I'm in!!!!
-
Started the 2nd. Me: 5 LNS: ZEEEERRRROOOO
-
For sure! I wish I could do the whole moderation thing but I've found I just don't follow my diet if I'm allowed to have a little bit of something, especially in the first few months of trying to get healthy, it just all goes to *kitten*. So it's (weirdly) easier for me to just go cold turkey. Appreciate the advice!!
-
I am a bit of the opposite. Cutting out pizza entirely so I can keep drinking lol. But thanks for the advice. I'll probably stay with the PB since that's the only time I'll eat it.
-
Never thought to put hummus on toast that's brilliant!!
-
I've never had it before. May have to give it a whirl. Thank you!
-
Yeah I've seen folks put a bruscetta like mix on toast. Thought about that too. Trying to avoid as much cheese as possible for the time being but these all sound so good!
-
That sounds amazing!!! Had a similar breakfast in Ireland almost every morning on my one trip there. And now I want to go back to Ireland super bad! Thank you!
-
Love this perspective. Thanks
-
I think everyone should remember in the first place i'm a fat guy giving diet advice. Lol. Sorry I created all this mess!
-
Oh yeah working out that much ain't for me either long term. But I was the fattest I'd ever been so I knew it'd take drastic measures to get where I wanted to go. And I think a pizza- and fast food-free me is a me I could grow old with. Good luck!!!

Yeah I was an idiot in my first post basically. I didn't set it up write or use the right words. And it's my second day with the app so I did not know how things went on the app.
-
You are exactly correct. Didn't help I also chose my words poorly ha-ha. Thanks!

I'd usually warm up with a half hour on a stationary bike, followed by about 15 mins of shooting hoops. Then I'd go thru an old lifting workout from my high school football days. Usually took a little over an hour. Then I'd shoot hoops or play in a pickup game for another 45 mins to an hour. Did that six days a week for 14…

Actually I'll be following close to the same diet that brought me success the first time. What will change for me is how active I am. I worked out 6 days a week the first time. Due to jobs/etc I don't have time to be that rigorous with my workouts. The thing that derailed me from my first major weight loss attempt was the…
